Sharing the Joy!
CJHS Spirit Wear Sale - Last day to order is Monday, September 16th
New Safety Feature at CJHS
All Unit 5 Schools will be rolling out a new safety feature called Verkada. When you come to visit CJHS for any reason, you will need to bring your driver’s license. You will scan your license and a visitor badge will be printed out for you to wear while in the building.
All volunteers will still need to have a new approved background check for this year. Please call the office to get information about completing this process. Volunteers must complete this each year.
2024-2025 Yearbook - Sale ends September 27th!!
Yearbook Photos
The yearbook is always looking for more pictures. Please use this link to share your pictures with the yearbook committee!
High School Football Games
High school football games are great events for junior high and elementary students to attend to start seeing what high school life is like. It is important to note that junior high and elementary students coming to a football game at either Normal Community or Normal West must be accompanied by an adult (18 or older).
Junior high or elementary students without an adult will not be allowed to enter the stadium. We also ask that students not bring bags, footballs, or toys to the game.
Thank you for your cooperation and we invite you to come out and support our Unit 5 teams this fall!

Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15)
The month of September, and part of October, is a time to celebrate Hispanic culture. This time of year is significant because the Latin American countries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua all received their independence on September 15th. Additionally, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16th and September 18th. At 55.6 million, people of Hispanic origin are the largest ethnic or racial minority in the U.S. (17.6% of the total population). To learn more, click here.
From the Nurse...
As the school nurse for Chiddix Junior High School, my role is to help each student feel safe, be healthy, and ready to learn. I also help to monitor attendance to identify those students who may be having an issue attending school regularly due to various reasons.
I need your help to ensure a safe school environment that extends to illness and injuries. If you are contacted by your student via text message or phone call, please tell them to check into the health office to see me. If you receive a phone call from them requesting to be picked up due to illness or injury, feel free to contact me, so that I can check on your student's status. Please do not sign out students who are ill or injured, if they have not seen me or you have not received a phone call from me. Oftentimes, students want to leave due to a variety of reasons, including anxiety, stress, or work avoidance. It is our goal at Chiddix to help our students feel supported, healthy, and keep them in school. Thank you for your partnership for a safe, healthy and happy school year!
Sincerely,
Andrea Powell

Calling all Chiddix Chargers!!
Do you have ideas or suggestions to improve our school? Would you like to meet with Ms. Nicasio on a quarterly basis to discuss student issues or concerns? Would you like to help work toward solutions to any issues or concerns that students may have? If you answered yes to any of this questions, your voice is important and I am interested in connecting directly with students to listen to your thoughts.
Students would meet with Ms. Nicasio during lunch twice a quarter and eat lunch together with her. Click on the button below to complete the Google form to indicate your interest and more information will be sent to your email.
