We acknowledge and are mindful that Bidwell Jr. High School stands on lands that were originally occupied by the first people of this area, the Mechoopda, and we recognize their distinctive spiritual relationship with this land, the flora, the fauna, and the waters that run near campus. We are humbled that our campus resides upon sacred lands that since time immemorial has sustained the Mechoopda people and continues to do so today.

Parents, our kiddos do such an amazing job bringing out the best in one another on a daily basis here at Bidwell. We know that doesn’t happen without excellent parenting on the home front. Thank you!

As a friendly reminder, if your student comes home and reports an incident to you that doesn’t sound right please let us know right away so that we can at least be keeping an eye on the situation. While it doesn’t happen very often anymore, the number one reason we hear for students not speaking up about a negative situation is, “I didn’t want to make it worse.” That strategy almost always fails. Whether it be your teacher, counselor, or Mr. Siplin or myself, we don’t necessarily have to make a big deal out of a situation in order to resolve it. Bidwell will be hosting a Girls on the Run: Heart and Sole team for the spring season! We have 2 amazing coaches from Chico State who will be coaching at Bidwell, and registration is free! Practices will be just once a week on Mondays from 2:50-4:50! Practices will start on Monday, February 3rd, and there will be an Aloha Day meet and greet for one hour on January 27 in room 406. This is an amazing program for any girls who want to make friends, boost confidence, and grow in mental and physical health. Girls do not have to have any background in running. AAUW Tech Trek is looking for 7th-grade girls interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) to attend a week-long camp at UC Davis from July 13 to 19, 2025.
