Weekly Update
November 9, 2024
From the Principal
Dear Aquin Families,
We are firmly in November, and the weather can't decide what it wants to do! It would be great if you could send an old, extra pair of sneakers for your child to wear at recess. The ground can get pretty wet and muddy, and we are trying to limit the amount of wear and tear on their good shoes. It is also better for running around and having shoes stay on their feet! You would be surprised at how many shoes come off during recess time. You may also want to pack an extra pair of socks. Those get wet and muddy too.
The PTO has some great activities planned for families. There is a Pizza dinner next week for $10 a family! We will also have the gym open for the kids to get some energy out and play. Then in December there will be a book fair and the gingerbread house activity night. Please invite friends that don't attend to come and share in our fun!
Our Adesse fundraiser is getting ready to start! This is our annual raffle that awards a prize every day of the year. We ask every family to try to sell as many tickets as possible because the money helps our school with our many financial needs. There are prizes and incentives for the students. More information will be sent out with the paper tickets. There is also an online ticket option that makes it easier for out-of-town relatives and friends to purchase tickets from your child.
I have had some questions about if we are going to have a board (like our previous Council of Administration). The answer is yes, but we are still waiting on our charter documents from the Diocese to see how the structure will be done. Unfortunately, Fr. McMorrow and I cannot move forward without this. But understand we are pushing hard to get them in hand so we can get this established soon. In the meantime, I encourage you to reach out to me or Fr. McMorrow with questions, concerns or suggestions.
Have a great weekend!
Mrs. Heitkamp
