COUNCIL and DISTRICT Leaders: Georgia PTA is offering a special registration offer just for you! Register 3 council/district officers at regular price and get the 4th registration for $99.00. You MUST mail in the Council Special Offer Registration Form to receive the special offer pricing.

Each council is asked to submit the Council Annual Achievement Report (CAAR) by May 1. If sending electronically, please submit to gapta@bellsouth.net and send a copy to your District Director. If mailing, please send to the Georgia PTA state office at 114 Baker Street, NE Atlanta, GA 30308-3366.

Need a copy of the CAAR? It can be found on page 44 of the Council Leadership Resource Guide. You can also download it from the FORMS section of the Councils Only section of the Georgia PTA website. If you have any questions regarding the report, please email Susan Hayes.

Councils and local units are asked to submit their list of incoming officers online by May 1. Please share this link with your local units and encourage them to meet the May 1 deadline.

Georgia PTA offers online training opportunities for all PTA leaders including a brand new training about Transitioning Your Teams. Georgia PTA kicks off a spring membership incentive. This new campaign awards each local unit PTA who submits 100 new members by April 30th, with a fun-filled 2016 Hummer ride around the City of Athens on Friday evening (June 24th) of CLT. We have other fun surprises in store as well. What a better way to celebrate membership and summer?!

President Lisa-Marie Haygood and Georgia PTA's Honorary Membership Chair, Dr. Norman Thomas will also recognize your school at the Saturday luncheon as a founding member of the Georgia PTA Spring Fling Membership Growth Club.

Create a creative "membership is growing" campaign, roll up your sleeves and:

• Send membership forms and fliers home with report cards, newsletters and school reminders;
• Invite newly transferred families to join your PTA with a personal invitation from your PTA and principal;
• Set up your membership table at every upcoming spring PTA and school event;
• Include articles about membership and its benefits at your table and in your newsletter;
• Like Georgia PTA "Membership Moments" Facebook page for ideas;
• Celebrate your accomplishments and "Just Ask"- Are you a member?
• Remit the state and national portion of dues by April 30 to the state office.

So on your mark, get set, GO!! The finish line and your ticket for a Hummer tour of Athens are only 100 members away.

Attention PTAs who submit the 990-N Form to the IRS, the submission website has changed.

Effective February 29, 2016 Form 990-N electronic submissions will be accepted through IRS.gov instead of Urban Institute's website.

Form 990-N, Electronic Notice (e-Postcard) for Tax-Exempt Organizations Not Required to File Form 990 or Form 990EZ, is used by small, tax-exempt organizations (whose gross income is less than $50,000) for annual reporting and can only be submitted electronically.
