Compass students will have their school pictures taken on Monday, August 28th. This photo will be used for Compass student IDs and for the Compass yearbook. Picture order forms will be distributed at school, but you may also order online at this link: shop.hrimaging.com.

If your student is unable to attend on Picture Day, there will be a make-up day in October. The date for make-ups will be shared in upcoming communications.

Compass Academy students are dually enrolled at their home high school and at Compass, so they have access to events at both schools. This means that Compass students who want to buy tickets for dances (like Homecoming), games, or other school events may do so with their student IDs/ID number through PushCoin or in person just like students who are full-time East or North students.

If a student is participating in an event, like the Homecoming parade, for their home high school, they will be excused at the requested time to meet their club or team and participate.

It has become a tradition at Compass Academy for Mrs. Stanley to walk up to Main Street with all interested Compass students to watch both the East and North Homecoming parades in order to allow students to show school spirit and cheer on their Compass classmates who are in the parade. Afterwards, the group walks back to Compass to finish their afternoon classes. Students who are not interested in watching the parade are not required to attend and will attend classes on their regular schedule.

STUDENTS MAY COMPLETE THEIR LUNCH ORDER FOR THE WEEK BY CLICKING THE BOX ABOVE AND MAKING THEIR SELECTION BY 9:45 A.M. MONDAY MORNING.

Compass Academy students pre-order their lunch, so if your student plans to order lunch, please have them complete this form. Students are always welcome to bring food from home, if they prefer. If your student may qualify for free or reduced lunch, please complete this form or have them get a paper copy of the form from the Compass office.

Have you been looking for a way to get involved as a parent at Compass Academy? If so, we would love you to join us on Tuesday, September 5th, from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Community Room for the first meeting of the Compass Parent Advisory Committee (CPAC). At Compass, student voice is incorporated into everything we do, and that is no different with CPAC. Student Leaders will be present to share ideas they have for school events, and the parents who participate in CPAC are there to provide guidance, support, and expertise in helping students to execute their plans. Please enter the building at door 1 (Compass entrance on 9th Street) if you plan to attend.

The Compass Academy Back to School Night was well-attended and provided new and returning Compass parents with important information about the upcoming school year, including an overview of how Compass works.

The Discovery Program exposes students to a broad range of activities designed to encourage their interest in healthcare careers. Program activities include tours, guest speakers, group discussion, and hands-on projects. Meetings are held once a month, most often on Saturday mornings from 9:00am-12:00pm. The NM Discovery West Chapter and the Greater DeKalb Chapter collaborate a lot, so meetings will be held at Central DuPage Hospital, Delnor Hospital, Kishwaukee Hospital, and various off-site NM locations. Please note, meeting dates, times, and topics are subject to change. Participants are responsible for their own transportation.

Are you interested in learning about the various career options available in St. Charles? Through the city's career pathway job shadow program, Compass students can shadow people in many career fields, including office administration, communications, accounting, firefighting, government, law enforcement, construction, forestry, water management, and vehicle maintenance. Students who participate in job shadowing on Wednesdays, and then write reflections about their experiences, have the opportunity to earn credit for career exploration.

Students may register for these opportunities by scanning the QR code on the bulletin board in the academic hallway. If they have questions, they should view the video shown in advisory, which outlines everything they need to know about this opportunity, or make an appointment with Ms. Ohlson, the Compass counselor.
