Dear RES Families,
Celebrating Our School Community
April 24th marked Administrative Professionals Day, and it's our pleasure to extend a heartfelt thank you to Justine Montgomery for her unwavering dedication and service to our school and students.
On May 3rd, we celebrated National School Lunch Hero Day, recognizing the incredible positive energy and care that Miss Sandy brings to our staff and students every day. We're immensely grateful for her contributions to our school community.
This past week, we honored Teacher Appreciation Week, acknowledging the exceptional dedication and hard work of the staff here at Reading Elementary School. The commitment they show to their craft and our students is truly remarkable, and it was heartening to see their efforts recognized and appreciated.
Additionally, this week is Nurse Appreciation Week, we'd like to recognize the invaluable contributions of Kim Carey to our team. Her dedication and care have been instrumental, and we eagerly anticipate her continued support next year.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the PTO for their outstanding support. Their efforts in decorating the building, providing a fantastic lunch, and volunteering their time are invaluable gifts to our school community. We also thank the parents who joined them in volunteering their time, contributing to the vibrant spirit of our school.
Lastly, we'd like to express our appreciation to Senora Gagne and Miss Linsley for their assistance in setting up the New Inca Son Residency, which took place today. Their efforts, along with the support of the PTO in funding this opportunity, have enriched our school experience and brought valuable cultural insights to our students. Additional words from Senora Gagne: On Friday, RES students enjoyed workshops and a performance from New Inca Son. New Inca Son is a band with a mission: to preserve its indigenous heritage and to instill, particularly in children and young people, an understanding and appreciation of this special culture from Peru and Bolivia. The band introduced students to aspects of Andean culture, focusing on its age-old musical traditions. Students learned about Andean music and culture before the special performance in both Music and Spanish classes as well. It was such a special event and here are some photos! A big thank you to the RES PTO for making this event possible!
Thank you to everyone who contributes to making Reading Elementary School such a wonderful community!
