Solo & Ensemble Contest
What is Solos & Ensemble Contest? Solo & Ensemble is a yearly opportunity for kids in music programs to perform a solo, duet, and/or a small ensemble piece and get some feedback from a judge. This feedback includes a rating on how well your child has master a solo piece of music and/or how well the ensemble preformed together.
Entry Fees:
Solos: $11.50, plus $26.50 accompanist fee
Ensembles: Each member must pay $11.50
The $11.50 entry fee can be paid online through School Cash Online.
The accompanist fee of $26.50 will be paid directly to your child's accompanist at their first practice.
Your child is also required to meet with me twice for a 10 minute session, by appointment, prior to the contest. Appointments will be available before school, after school, during paw period. There are signup sheets posted in the orchestra room for your child to set his/her appointment time. This will begin Thursday, January 16th.
Your child will meet with the accompanist to practice their solos during their orchestra period, paw period, before and after school by appointment. Piano rehearsal sign ups will be emailed next week.
