Curriculum and Assessment Updates
Playground Visitor
We had a Green Meadow playground visitor this week. This local snapping turtle came to shop for a great place to lay her eggs. She created a nesting site and went through the motions but did not lay eggs in the end. Many thanks to the parents who took photos and found ways to protect the nest. It probably was not the safest place for this turtle to select. It was a great learning opportunity for our students and staff.
Grade 3 to Grade 4 Transition
On June 10th, current 3rd-grade students will be visiting Fowler. The students will receive a personalized peer-to-peer tour with teacher supervision during this visit. Additionally, there will be a mini band and chorus performance to help the students better understand these options.
On June 10th, Mr. Snyder and I will host a remote session from 12:30-1:30 for all caregivers. During this session, we will provide an overview of "A Day in the Life of a 4th-Grade Fowler Student" with Q and A time included. The presentation will be recorded and shared for those unable to attend. We are also available to respond to any questions outside of this meeting.
August 21st, “Rising Grade-4 Student Revisit Day.” Information will come out during the summer.

Welcome to the Counselor's Corner!
Did you know that Maynard Public Schools has a longstanding collaborative relationship with the Eliot Center? Eliot's behavioral health clinic based out of Concord offers individualized treatment and support for individuals and their families. One of the services they provide is individual counseling to students on site at Green Meadow, Fowler and the High School. Individual counseling is provided by clinicians who bill directly through the student's insurance carrier. Children can be referred to counseling for a range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, school adjustment issues, and peer and social challenges. If you feel that your child is in need of ongoing counseling that is provided in the school setting, please reach out to Erin Jeffrey at ejeffrey@maynard.k12.ma.us or Ann Rutherford at arutherford@maynard.k12.ma.us for more information.
