New Mexico Statutes Chapter 66. Motor Vehicles ยง 66-7-347. Overtaking and passing school bus
Although Chamisa does not use school buses, except for field trips, please be aware of the NM Statute for Overtaking and Passing a School Bus:
About 9 years ago, a middle school student that attended Chamisa, crossed in front of an Atomic City Transit bus and was hit by a truck. He sadly passed away due to his injuries, which was a tragedy for our community. Please be cognizant of school buses, ACT buses, school zone speed limits, and crosswalks.
