Attendance Survey
As we approach the end of another school year at Greenacres Elementary, it's time to look ahead. In your child's backpack today you will find an attendance survey , and we'd appreciate your prompt response. Please return the survey as soon as possible to your child's teacher so we know whether or not we should plan for them to attend Greenacres next school year. We use this information to predict enrollment and plan our staffing for the upcoming year so it is essential we have an accurate information about your family's plans. Your input helps us plan for a great future and we appreciate your support.
We Want Your Feedback!
Each year we ask for your confidential feedback to let us know how we are doing! We would be so grateful if you could take a few minutes to fill out our Spring Parent Survey.
Small Front Parking Lot
The small lot located on the corner of 4th and Long is for staff only. We have an increasing number of families pulling up to pick up and drop off students, blocking staff in who need to leave for meetings through out the day. Please only use the large parking lot on 4th for student pick up and drop off.
Smarter Balanced Assessment Grades 3 -5
The Smarter Balanced assessments, scheduled for May 14, 15, 21, 22 are designed to evaluate student proficiency in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics, providing valuable insights into their academic progress and areas of strength and improvement. Additionally, our 5th-grade students will be participating in the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) on May 28, which assesses their understanding of science concepts and inquiry skills.
We appreciate your support in ensuring your child is in attendance and has gotten a good night's sleep for these assessments. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further information.
Human Growth and Development Grades 4 and 5
Human Growth and Development will be taught to 4th grade students on May 24th and 5th grade students on May 17th. Families are encouraged to review the curriculum for Human Growth and Development (Grades 4-5) and have the option to opt-out their students if they prefer. You can preview the curriculum and access opt-out forms at https://www.cvsd.org/apps/pages/sexualhealth. Opt-out forms must be completed at least a week before the scheduled instruction.
It's important to note that Human Growth has not been and will not be taught in Grades K-3. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Roadrunner Dash
The 2024 fun run is just a few weeks away! Register your student to gain pledges at mybooster.com.
The Kickoff to our "World Changer Workshop" character lessons is on Monday, May 20th and continues through the 30th. The Fun Run will be on Friday, May 31st - schedule to be determined.
Last year our students raised over $28,000. These funds sent each grade level on a field trip, bought extra supplies for teachers and students, replenished recess items and more.
This year we are raising funds to do more of the same + a courtyard makeover.
*Registration is not required to participate in the fun run. Registration is required to be eligible for prizes.
