The Weekly Update #4
August 6th, 2024

MStep Important Info
M-Step testing is just around the corner! Starting on April 8th, students in 3rd through 5th grade will begin this important assessment, and we want to make sure both you and your child are fully prepared. During the testing period, electronic devices are not allowed in the classroom. This includes cell phones, ipads/tablets, AirPods, and electronic watches. If your child brings any of these items to school on testing days, they will be collected and locked up for safekeeping until the end of the day. Rest assured, your child will get everything back before they leave school for the day. On testing days, please make sure your child arrives on time, well-rested, and ready to do their best!
We appreciate your support in helping us create the best possible environment for our students to succeed!

The district has finally put the IChat form online. This form needs to filled out if you want to volunteer at the school or chaperone a field trip. If you have already turned one in, you do not have to repeat the process. If for some reason you are not approved to volunteer, you will receive a letter in the mail stating why. When filling out this form, please be reminded that if you do not include a picture of your government issued ID, it will not count. Thanks so much and we hope streamlining the process helps out.

National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs
Wayne-Westland Community Schools is proud to continue participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2024-2025 school year as part of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. This ensures that ALL enrolled students receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at NO CHARGE to your household!
To help us maintain this program, we ask parents and guardians to complete and sign the Education Benefits Form (available on the Meal Magic Family Portal) and return it to your child's school as soon as possible. Please note: the information is used for administrative purposes, not to determine eligibility.
This form is crucial for your child's school to receive important funding from state and federal programs like Title I A, At-Risk (31a), and more. Your help makes a big difference!
