Baseball
Methacton baseball was unfortunately rained out for every game this week with the exception of Friday, 4/5 at Norristown. The Warriors defeated the host Eagles by a score of 12-0 in six innings to improve to 4-0 on the season. Will Christian earned the victory on the mound with four shut-out innings. Evan Jones shut the door in the final two innings on the mound. Offensively, Methacton was led by Nick Remish, Kasey Humes and Chase McNally, who all had two hits each. Kasey Humes added three RBI to go along with his two hits. Methacton will next take on Pope John Paul II on Tuesday, 4/9.
We are looking forward to a huge four game week next week!
GO WARRIORS!

The girls lacrosse team had a great week, showing their determination, flexibility, and perseverance. Minutes before the PJP game on Friday, Erin Donnely was asked to step into goal. With only a few minutes to warm up, she managed to help bring the team to victory 10-8. She had 6 saves, with Lily Dewan leading the team with 3 goals. Bella Catania, Giada Catoia, and Brayden Williams with 2 goals each, and Sam Gambone with 1 goal.
The team looks forward to a week of warmer weather and is preparing for two challenging opponents: Away at OJR on Wednesday, April 10th, and home against Spring-Ford on Friday, April 12th.
Upcoming Events:
Wednesday 4/10 – OJR (AWAY)
Friday 4/12 – SF (HOME)
Boys Tennis
Boy’s tennis had a rainy week and were only able to get in one match against Pottsgrove. The boys were eager to get out on the courts and it showed as they closed out a strong 7-0 victory! The team is now 4-0 in the league!! This week will be busy with the weather looking better. We will have both matches and the PAC league singles tournament. Akash Suresh and Karun Jayaram will be representing the Warriors in the tournament.
Boys Track & Field
The Boy's track team was busy with competition late last week. On Thursday, they went up against a talented Perk Valley team. The warriors kept the meet close for the majority of the afternoon, and surpassed expectations in many events, but ultimately fell short losing 86-64. Despite the loss, it was a productive outing for the team with many PR's, PAC qualifiers and highlights.
At Perk Valley, the boy's were dominant in the short sprints, with Wes Conover, Brody Mellow and Avery Smith sweeping the 100m dash. The trio and teammate Dylan Weber would capitalize the day with a AAA district qualifying mark in the 4x100 relay. Wes would later come back to narrowly miss the district mark in the 200m dash, and then capitalize the day with a 50.4 second split to anchor the 4x4 relay to a win. The talented senior will look to build on this success in the coming weeks.
Methacton saw 6 different distance runners qualify for the PAC championships. Freshman Brock Yoder in his 1600m debut ran an impressive 4:36. Teammates Mitch Alexander, Colin O'Donnell and Quinn Kumfert finished 3, 4 and 5 qualifying for the conference champs in the process.
In the 3200, Akhil Yeluri and Tyler Rifkin comfortably ran to a 1, 2 finish and times of 10:21 and 10:24, also making the PAC meet.
Yasser Jarhale and Jeramiah Villanueva also both qualified for PACs in their respective events (300m hurdles & long jump). Nico Lumbrano won the disc and Matt Decker picked up his 3rd win this year in the high hurdles.
On Saturday the boys took a trip to Delco to compete against some of the best teams in the Philly region at the Haverford Invite. It was clear early on that the 30 mph winds would have a negative effect on the times produced. It was still a day well spent for the warriors, as they executed races well and gained valuable experience.
In the 4x800, Charlie Reith, Brock Yoder, Mitch Alexander and Colin O'Donnell ran to a 5th place finish out of 26 teams, not far behind some of the better relays in the state.
Shortly after, Matthew Sandner finished 8th out of 47 in the 1600. The 4x1 relay also matched their effort from Thursday's dual meet.
In the throws, sophomore Bedirhan Sade threw another big PR to inch closer to the PAC mark, making him the 4th shot putter over 38 feet this year. Nico Lumbrano placed 11th in the disc and Javelin throwers Logan Courtney, Shane Corne and JT Gutowski would all have impressive days on the runway each throwing a PR.
Logan Courtney, Matt Sandner, Curt Alexander and Quinn Kumfert would all qualify for the PAC championships. The warriors have their busiest week of the year on deck. The team hopes to continue building a large group of PAC qualifiers and to sharpen up for the competitive stretch of meets around the corner.
Upcoming Events:
