News From Art Class
Hi Families!
Happy May!
We always love donations of egg cartons! When students work with tempera or acrylic paint, egg cartons are used as paint palettes. We throw them out after use, so we go through quite a lot of them.
The art room will be busy this month as we work on finishing many projects. Fifth graders are working on t-shirts that are emblazoned with a personal symbol. They are also engaged in an analog photography project. Fourth graders are creating a found poetry book. Third graders are learning about line and form and looking at the art of Louise Bourgeois. Second graders are doing projects that tie in with the social studies and science curriculum. Kindergarten and first grade will be doing some painting and sculpture. All students have been engaged in printmaking projects.
Square1 Art orders are due May 3rd. All sales benefit the school.
Third, Fourth and fifth graders are working with a visiting puppeteer in early May. They are making creations for the Fiesta parade. A group of fourth and fifth graders will be marching and performing in the parade. Watch for us on parade day!!!
As always, please reach out with questions or concerns or ideas. We welcome your input about current and future art projects!
Be well,
Thea Storz

Save the Children
Happy May. Our last month of school. It has been such an honor to get to work with these students.
The beginning of the month we will work to finish our End of Year testing then move on to a few STEM projects to finish off the school year. Our last day of the Save the Children class will be on May 17th.
Below is a QR code for a survey regarding how well the school has welcomed and communicated with families this school year. By filling out the survey you can help our school and Save the Children learn what has worked for you and your family and what we can do better next year. We would love any feedback that we can get in order to give you and your family the best school experience we can provide.
