Little Miami had 77 students compete in 4H this summer at the Warren County Fair! We had several winners and two Grand Champions.

Throughout her years in 4H, she has raised and shown market chickens, market hogs, market goats, market lambs, market beef, feeder calves, and breeding heifers. This year at the Warren County Fair, Alexis won Grand Champion AND Reserve Grand Champion lottery lambs and 1st place in each of her cattle shows.
Max Frazee is currently in 10th grade. This was Max's seventh year in 4-H. This summer, he showed market goats, which received 3rd place in his class, and market chickens, which received Reserve Grand Champion meat pen of chickens. He has previously shown market beef, beef feeder calves and market turkeys.
Preschool Pals
This week in preschool we wanted the children to begin to feel right at home in their new School Family. We are learning our classmates’ names and the classroom routine. We are caring for our school supplies. Early in the year we sort, draw, and learn about lines and curves. This hands-on playing is the foundational part to learning about the whole of letters, numbers, and shapes.

Update Information in Secure Online Portal
Secure Online Portal
It is time to complete your student’s annual update of the Secure Online Portal. If you are a brand-new student to Little Miami this school year (2024-2025), you DO NOT need to update the Portal, as your essential information was submitted at Registration.
What You Can Do Now:
1. Complete what you can complete within the Portal.
2. Contact your student’s building secretary with necessary updates for contact information changes, emergency contacts, living with student status, authorized to pick up status, etc.
Your student’s information in the Secure Online Portal must be updated at the start of every year. Families must update critical student information, including emergency medical and contact information, acknowledgment of the district policies and handbooks, and the computer/internet acceptable use policy.
How Will I Get Alerts/Closure Information from LM?
Little Miami will utilize the notification system, Thrillshare. Alerts can come in the form of phone calls, text messages and email.
Be sure your current contact information is updated in the Secure Online Portal. You do not need to “sign up” for alerts. You should receive alerts if your contact information is updated in your student’s profile. IMPORTANT – if your student wants to receive text or phone alerts, please ensure their mobile number is also in the Secure Online Portal.
Little Miami School District Achieves High Marks for Transportation Efficiency
The Little Miami School District is committed to providing the best education for our students. One such pillar of excellence is an efficient transportation department. Every school district in Ohio receives an efficiency ratio. A score of 1.0 is deemed average and a score of 1.5 is considered exceptional. The Little Miami School District received a score of 1.45.
“Our Transportation Department works hard to be cost effective and efficient when we route our students,” said Transportation Director, Mrs. Kelly Oeder. “It can be challenging considering the size of our district and the number of students, public and private, that we transport daily. We are both humbled and excited that this rating validates what we do daily.”

Fiscal Focus
Despite significant student enrollment growth over the last ten years, LM has strategically stretched out the funds generated by the passage of the 2011 Emergency Levy for more than ten years. This funding represents one-fifth of LM’s total operating budget and is a vital piece of the district’s financial health. These funds were renewed in November 2020.
However, with continued enrollment growth and increased demand for student supports, a request for new funds will need to be made of the community in the near future.

Imagination Library - ENROLL TODAY
DID YOU KNOW? By the age of three, a child’s brain is already 80% developed, and, by the time a child enters kindergarten, they must already know thousands of words in order to succeed in the classroom. Reading aloud to a child and giving them access to books is the best way to ensure they are prepared to enter kindergarten.
The Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library wants to start a new chapter in early childhood literacy throughout Ohio by providing families with books. With the goal of preparing students entering Kindergarten for success in the classroom, the Imagination Library program will send a customized book to your child each month from birth until age five. Sign up is easy and FREE! Give your Panther the gift of reading & enroll today.
