Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families-- I feel like you shouldn’t spend too much time reading your email when the weather is so amazing today and this weekend coming up… So, I think I’ll keep it short today!
It was Teacher Appreciation Week so we celebrated all our amazing Ridgeline Teachers. Probably, the most powerful activity that happens this week are the Thank You letters every teacher receives from the students. English teacher, Kacie Hoard, started this activity the first year we opened. Now it has become something every teacher looks forward to! Students take some time during their classes and write personal notes of appreciation to teachers they have this year or had in the past. Often, you don’t know the subtle ways you can positively impact students. When these letters come in, it often moves you to tears to read what the students are saying. We really thank Mrs. Hoard, all the student who participated, and the entire English department for devoting this time!
We completed a successful week of AP testing for hundreds of students, and will continue every day next week as well. It’s quite a spectacle when we have 160 students spread out in the main gym to settle in for a four-hour test. The kids were great and took it very serious, and worked very diligently!
This weeks highlight was inviting all our feeder school 5th graders to a special matinee performance of Tuck Everlasting. What a great experience for them, and opportunity for our kids to perform for Future Falcons! Tonight is closing night for Tuck Everlasting, the musical. Special thanks to Mrs. Peterson who has elevated the culture of our school and the opportunities for our students to perform and work behind the scenes. Congratulations to them, and thank you for all of their hard work and dedication to their craft!
You can see more great news, and stay informed by skimming the Flyer every week!
Now get out there and enjoy the sun. Make it a great weekend! –Mr. Hardt
