SCHOOL NEWS
WELCOME TO THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR!
Please note that this bulletin CAN be translated into multiple languages. On a desktop just look to the right ---> for the button.
We are so happy to see many old faces in our building, as well as, welcoming many new students, staff, & faculty to our Mary Bryan family.
We have some policy changes that are now in effect for our building. Please note the following:
- You must have a car rider tag displayed in your vehicle to pick up your child in the car rider line at the end of the day. If you do not have a tag you must park & come into the front office. You may request car tags through the front office. You may also call Mrs. Terra Weddell @ 317)789*2609 or email your request to tweddell@perryschools.org.
- Changes to afternoon transportation for your student MUST be made to the front office no later than 2:00. Busing is very full this year and we have to call the transportation office to get permission for a student to ride the bus with an approved family member/friend.
- As always, please make sure you have your ID to pick up your children.
- Make sure you send your children to school with a reusable water bottle. Fill up stations are located throughout the building.

Guidelines for Having lunch with your children at school:
Our guidelines for parents/guardians visiting for lunch will go into effect for all lunch visitors beginning January 8, 2024.
Parents are encouraged to check-in five minutes before the scheduled lunch time. Adults must bring government issued ID (driver’s license, military ID, etc.) to check-in for lunch.
1st Grade:10:45-11:15 2nd Grade:11:20-11:50 3rd Grade: 11:55-12:25
4th Grade: 12:30-1:00 5th Grade: 1:05-1:35
Visitors and their student(s) will sit separately from other students at a specified table in the cafeteria. Students are no longer permitted to invite friends to sit with them when an adult comes in for lunch.
It is against the grant funding guidelines for students to share their school lunch with adults or other students. Perry students can use their student number to purchase their own lunch. Adults must purchase a lunch or bring a lunch from home. To purchase a school lunch, the cost is $5.00. Parents may not use money in students’ accounts to purchase meals. Only cash/check is accepted.
- Parents bringing food from home may not share with other students. We have many children in the building with allergies and food restrictions. You may only bring in food for your own children.
If parents bring restaurant food, all involved will need to eat outside the building. Restaurant food is not permitted in the cafeteria. Visitors will need to sign the student out in the front office and return when he/she is done.
Share table items are for students only.
Cell phone use is strictly prohibited in the cafeteria. Visitors may not take pictures, text, or take phone calls while in the cafeteria. This is to ensure the safety and security of the students in the cafeteria.
Adults are to use the restroom in the office when visiting for lunch.
You may come have lunch with your student!
Please make sure you have your ID so the office is able to create you a badge to wear while in our building. No outside food (fast food) is allowed. Cash/check only. The lunch times are listed below.

A message from the Perry Township Child Nutrition Department:
Perry Township Schools Child Nutrition Department, Cafe Express, will be implementing a new
special dietary needs protocol beginning in the 2024-2025 school year.
Under the National School Lunch Program and USDA guidelines, Perry Township Schools are
required to provide reasonable meal modifications to accommodate students who are unable to
eat the school meal as is, at no additional charge, due to a disability, impairment and/or medical
necessity (i.e. food allergy) that restricts their diet.
To request special meal accommodations, parents/guardians must complete the “Special
Dietary Needs” form located on the district website under the “Child Nutrition Department”
Special Dietary Needs section. Completed forms will be sent to and reviewed by the Assistant
Child Nutrition Director.
