Jazz Season is in full swing!

It's officially contest season for our jazz bands and we could not be more excited! Our Jazz bands will be performing at the SISD Jazz Invitational and the Hanks Jazz Festival beginning this week. This week both bands will be performing on Friday, February 21st for SISD at Montwood High School.

Next week, our Jazz Ensemble II will perform at Hanks High School on Friday, February 28th at 2:30pm. Students will be bused over to Hanks after lunch on Friday, and will return immediately following their clinic. Our Jazz Ensemble I will perform on Saturday, March 1st at 1:00pm. THERE WILL BE NO BUS FOR JAZZ ENSEMBLE 1. STUDENTS WILL BE ASKED TO MEET AT HANKS BY 11:30AM AND WILL BE DONE BY 2:00PM.

A Night of Jazz

To prepare for our final competition and close our jazz season, both of our bands will put on a jazz concert on Wednesday, February 26th in the Grand Stairwell. The concert will begin at 6:30pm with our Jazz Ensemble II, immediately followed by our Jazz Ensemble I. We hope to see you there!

Winterguard and Indoor Percussion

We are so excited for our winterguard and indoor percussion programs to return to competition this Saturday! Both groups will be performing at Eastlake High School, and their performance times can be found below with our itinerary. Call time at Eastwood for our students will be 7:00am. Color guard will be instructed what to wear and percussion will wear concert black.

Band and Guard Team Jackets!

We have recently designed team jackets for our band and color guard! Also known as Corps Jackets or Members Only Jackets, these jackets will be for sale for students who would like to purchase one. The jacket is a navy soft shell zip up with the students names on the front and an awesome design on the back. These jackets also come in a mens-unisex cut AND a ladies cut, and are all fit to size.

Jackets are currently on sale for $70, HOWEVER, students must have booster fees paid up to date first in order to purchase the jacket. Our next order will go out to our apparel company on Friday, February 21st. All payments for jackets will be collected by Mr. Perez ONLY. OUR BUSINESS OFFICE HAS ASKED US THAT ALL PAYMENTS FOR JACKETS BE MADE BY CASH ONLY.

Please contact Mr. Perez, if you have any questions regarding your booster account or the jacket. We think you'll love these jackets, and the students will all look amazing in them as well.

Class of 2026 Parents

Parents of our current juniors! While we know it might seem early, we want to already start planning for next year so that we can give them the best senior year possible. We ask that all parents of our Class of 2026 please message Mrs. Denise Lipp. Please include your name, your child’s name, and their instrument. Messages can be sent to her phone at 915-269-4663. Reminder: ALL REHEARSALS and PERFORMANCES are MANDATORY. Should your absences add up and restrict your ability to keep up, the directors have a right to keep you from participating at games and contests. This will lead to you having to make up this missed performance for a test grade or receive a 0.
