Message from the Principal
Dear Steindorf Families,
This is such an exciting and busy time of the year. I hope you are looking forward to some time away next week. I will be traveling to Nashville with my family for the first time and look forward to the adventure.
Seeing the PBL projects in action in all grade levels this month has been so fun. Please make sure you are asking your students about their PBLs and what they are learning about at school. We had a Park Ranger visit 4th grade last week. They are currently studying National Parks as part of their PBL. This expert in National Parks taught about wildlife conservation. Our 8th graders participated in a Jefferson Vs. Hamilton rap battle as part of their study of the Constitution. Please see the video below.
Did you know that we have an English Learner Advisory Committee? We meet as part of our School Site Council. We are here to support our families that speak one or more languages. We also have a district-level committee that meets monthly. Please find a few helpful links below and let me know if you have any questions or would like to become more involved. We have a great new online service that can help us communicate in many different languages. If English is not your first language, we don’t want that to stop you from getting involved! Please note that all Steindorf Newsletters can be translated into your language by selecting the “Translate” option at the top of the page.

Parking Lot Safety
Thank you to everyone for continuing to help keep all of our students safe on their way to and home from school. Just as a reminder to continue to follow all of the parking lot safety measures to ensure all of our students and families are safe.
PLEASE note that there are good reasons for our parking lot rules and your actions affect a lot of other people around and behind you.
The far right lane is for drop off/pick up only. You must pull all the way forward until you reach the colored gates before letting your students out. Please do not let your students out of the vehicle in front of the office. When cars stop, it causes traffic problems getting into the parking lot from Ross and at the intersection of Ross and Foxworthy. This is putting students and families who walk, scooter and bike to school at a much higher risk. The gates by the main office are only for students arriving to school on bikes and scooters so they are able to access the bike racks currently located in the back of the school.

The HSC Enrichment team has been working hard this year to improve the quality & variety of our Afterschool Enrichment education. Throughout the past school year we worked on several aspects of the program. But continuous management & constant improvement is always needed.
So, we would like to complete this year by adding a couple of new parent volunteers to our team, as well as conducting a survey from all the enrolled families. If you are interested in helping the team manage the courses next year, and/or can help this year with designing & evaluating a survey, please email steindorf.enrichment@gmail.com.

The Walk N Roll Committee is excited to announce our upcoming Walk N Roll MARATHON from April 22 (Earth Day) to May 17 (Bike to Wherever Day). Walking/Rolling to school has so many benefits:

Updated COVID Guidelines
We have received updated guidance from the California Department of Public Health regarding COVID 19 recommendations. The 5-day isolation is no longer the guidance and individuals testing positive for COVID 19 should isolate until they are fever-free for 24 hours (without fever reducing medication) and other symptoms are improving. Masking remains required for adults for 10 days, unless they have two consecutive negative tests.
