Letter from the Principal
Dear Lewis Community,
Tis the season for caring and sharing!
The holidays are right around the corner! At Lewis, we have several families that could use a little boost to get through the holiday season! Can you help?
For Thanksgiving: We will be collecting gift cards to send families in need out to shop for their dinner items or purchase a precooked meal from one of the local grocery stores. We are looking for gift cards to Trader Joes, Safeway, Fred Meyers, Winco and New Seasons. Any denomination is helpful. (Groceries are expensive!) The hope is that I will be able to combine gift cards so that families have enough $$ to purchase what they need for a Thanksgiving family dinner. I am also looking for donations of holiday napkins and a board game for each family to play on the day of Thanksgiving. Currently I have 12 families on the list to support. If you are a family that could use some extra support please reach out to me -dfroehlich@pps.net.
Gift cards may be dropped off in the school office from now until November 25th.
Thank you for supporting others in our school community!
Right after Thanksgiving we move into the GIving Snowman and get ready for the next holiday season. We have many in our school community who could use a little extra help getting ready for the holidays. The Giving Snowman tags will be hung in the office windows. Many different options are available from shopping for a specific item that the family or child has asked for, along with more open ended items so that parents can shop too. I always like to include a restaurant of the family's choice, a fun activity, grocery gift cards, and even a treat for the family to use during winter break. Please come in and pull off a tag or two. Purchase the item and return it to the office. The Giving Snowman will be up and ready for you during parent conferences, with all gifts coming in by December 13th and delivered to families prior to winter break. Gifts do not need to be wrapped, as gift wrap and tape is given to parents so that they get the pleasure of wrapping and seeing what will be given to their children. This will give parents some time to wrap and shop if needed prior to winter break on December 20th.
Together we can make a difference in the lives of many families and children within our own school community. This is a wonderful opportunity for your children to be involved in giving to others and recognizing that there are others in our community that are in need of some holiday cheer.
Thanks for your support!

Come find your lost items! If you lost a set of keys in the field during the summer, those keys have just been turned in. Did your child lose an invisalign in the gym? Did you lose a phone long ago? Small or valuable items end up in the main office.
