Earn Book Tokens for the Book Vending Machine!
The Inchy Bookworm Book Vending Machine is a fun and motivating way for RMS students to earn book tokens. The goal of this PTO initiative is to inspire a love for reading and help RMS students build strong reading habits.
Grades K-2:
For students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, the class works together to reach a goal of 1,000 reading minutes. Once the class reaches this goal, all students will receive a token for the Inchy Bookworm Book Vending Machine.
Grades 3-4:
For students in 3rd and 4th grade, the goal is 1,500 minutes of reading at home. After reaching this goal, students will earn a book token to choose a book from the vending machine.
Grades 5-6:
For students in 5th and 6th grades, the goal is 1,800 minutes of reading at home. After reaching this goal, students will earn a book token to choose a book from the vending machine.
Students and families can track and log reading minutes by using the Inchy Bookworm Book Vending Machine Reading Log.

Friendly Dismissal Reminders
- Please be sure all dismissal communication is sent to the office as well and not just to the classroom teacher or Countryside. When the office isn't aware of a dismissal change, it holds up the buses as we have to either get a student off the bus or get a student on the bus.
- It is important to include the office staff on the emails because sometimes staff will be absent. So a good rule of thumb for dismissal changes is to send it to the office, classroom teacher and/or Countryside if applicable.
- At this time Lori Sevigny is our office Administrative Assistant and her email is lorisevigny@oldrochester.org
- It is also important to not send dismissal notifications after 2:00PM, as we cannot guarantee this notice will be seen. Teachers have informed the office that some families send dismissal notification via the Remind App or other platforms and the teacher can't always read these notices.
- We also need our parent pick-up families to be at RMS before 3:05PM.
Thank you for assisting us in making sure we have a smooth dismissal process.
Pumpkin Fun
The 6th graders worked together in partners to create large paper pumpkins. The goal was to see who could make the largest pumpkin by height and circumference. Students then had to measure by centimeters and share their results. There were a lot of trials and errors and great teamwork!
Donations are Needed for Hurricane Relief
Dear School Community,
The devastation in the wake of recent hurricanes is heartbreaking. Our schools’ Project 351 has partnered with the nurses in an effort to try to support families impacted from the storms. We would like to collect donations from our school families to be sent to areas in need from hurricane damage. Our hope is that helping one area allows us to make a small difference for those experiencing such unbelievably challenging times.
Donations can be dropped off at any of the schools or brought into school by your student. We will be collecting donations until November 15th. Then we will be partnering with organizations driving to areas impacted by the hurricanes.
Possible Items for Donation:
Bandaids Toothbrushes/Toothpaste
Antibiotic Cream Flashlights
Poison Ivy Cream Packs of Socks and Underwear (All sizes)
Canned soups Pet Food (5# and 15# bags)
Chef Boyardee Work Gloves
Can openers Bug Spray
We appreciate you taking the time to help our students with this community service project.
Many thanks,
Project 351 Team and School Nurses
