Semester Exams December 18-20
Attention Parents and Students,
This is to inform you of the Semester Exam schedule for the 2024-2025 school year. The following dates are provided for you so that you can plan accordingly with your vacation travels. If your student does not take the semester exam, they will receive a score of 50% (F).
MAKE UP EXAMS:
â Per District regulation, semester exams cannot be given early. Teachers may give make up exams after school during the three days of semester exams (12/18-12/20).
â Any exams not made up by December 20th can be made up when students and teachers return in January (and must be scheduled with the teacher).
EXAM INFO:
â There will be no retakes on semester exams.
â All semester exam grades are final.
â Semester exam scores below a 50% will be adjusted to the minimum score on the District grading scale (e.g., if a student earns a 32% on the semester exam, the score is adjusted to 50%).

APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS ~ Public Education Foundation Opportunities for Students
The Public Education Foundation has launched a new scholarship application platform for the 2024-25 application cycle!
You can now begin working on your general application, where you will upload your information and supporting documents and answer a series of questions to pair you with scholarships. These details will automatically populate in the individual scholarship opportunities you qualify forâthere is no need to re-upload! Individual scholarships will continue to be posted and our platform will alert you when new opportunities you qualify for are posted.

We are excited to invite you to our Financial Aid Night on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, in the Coronado High School Theater. This informative event is designed to help you and your student navigate the college financing process with confidence.

During this session, we will cover key topics such as:
- Paying for College: Understanding the available options and resources.
- Cost of Attendance: Breaking down the expenses associated with higher education.
- FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid):
- The latest FAFSA changes and what they mean for families.
- A step-by-step walkthrough on how to complete the FAFSA
- Please note that the FAFSA for the 2024â2025 school year opens on December 1st, 2024. To prepare, we encourage both you and your student to create your FSA IDs (Federal Student Aid logins) in advance. This step is necessary to access and submit the FAFSA.

This engaging, interactive event will feature expert speakers, including Ms. Tidball, the College and Career Specialist, Mr. Teng, and Mr. Pierce Belaustegui. SPREADING HOPE
Coronado High School's Hope Squad members recently partnered with Hussongâs Cantina Henderson to raise funds to help promote student learning and wellness. Their donation will be used for their upcoming Spread Hope Day. This event promotes campus-wide unity and acknowledgement that mental health is important to all of us and that our youth is valued and important.
