Weekly Memo
Some thoughts for the starting school year
Hi Everyone,
Happy December! Next week (December 9-11) we have our district-wide decennial New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) final visit. NEASC visits are periodic evaluations conducted by the association to assess the quality of a school or college. These visits involve a team of educators whose primary goal of the visit is to ensure that the school meets the standards set by NEASC. Accreditation by NEASC is a significant achievement for a school, as it signifies a commitment to quality education and continuous improvement. NEASC is an accrediting body that sets standards for schools and colleges. Their visit is a significant milestone for our district, showcasing our commitment to providing high-quality education. We will have classroom visits, student focus groups, and meetings with other building-level stakeholders. The visit will end on Wednesday afternoon with a full-district presentation in the York Community Auditorium to share the committee's findings and recommendations.
Congratulations to this week's Seacoast Student of the Week: Logan Schrimper! Each week, we nominate a student from York High School to be featured in the Seacoast Online. Here is what we said about Logan:
Logan is an honor roll student and robotics leader. He produced York High School's Veterans Day assembly video and according to staff who work with him, he is an all-around kind person.
Stay tuned to see who our Student of the Week is next week!!
Good luck to our Drama Club this weekend as they have their three "Christmas Carol" performances. They have been working incredibly hard and we can't wait to see them up on stage. There will also be collection for non-perishable food items that will be donated to local food pantries. Please reach out to any Drama Club member (or the Director, George Hosker-Bouley) with any questions.
Enjoy the rest of your week and if you need anything or have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to Liza or me.
Thanks,
Amanda
