Inclement Weather Delays and Closures
As we approach the winter season, it becomes necessary to address the potential impact of inclement weather on our school schedule. The safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities, and we want to keep you informed about our procedures for weather-related delays and closures.
In the event of inclement weather, such as heavy snowfall, icy conditions, or severe storms, we may need to adjust our regular school schedule. Our primary concern is ensuring the safety of everyone associated with Hagerman Municipal.
Here is a brief overview of our procedures:
1. Delay Start: In the event of inclement weather, we may implement a delayed start. This allows additional time for roads to be cleared and conditions to improve. Please be aware of the adjusted start time, and make the necessary arrangements to ensure your child arrives at school safely.
2. School Closure: If weather conditions are severe and pose a significant risk to the safety of our students and staff, we may decide to close the school for the day. In such cases, we will make every effort to communicate the closure as early as possible through various tv channels, including our official school website, social media, Class Dojo, and local radio stations.
3. Communication Channels: We understand the importance of timely communication, especially during weather-related events. Please ensure that your contact information is up-to-date in our records (phone number, email address) so that you receive timely notifications. Additionally, we encourage you to check our official communication channels regularly for updates.
4. Make-Up Days: If we are forced to close school due to inclement weather, we will provide information about make-up days as soon as possible. Our goal is to minimize disruptions to the academic calendar while prioritizing the safety of our school community.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during these situations. Our commitment to the safety and education of your children remains our number one priority, and we will always strive to make decisions in their best interests.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our school office.
Sincerely,
Belia Reyes--Interim Superintendent
