Join Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument as they celebrate National Fossil Day with Pleistocene Palooza. Discover what remains of Ice Age Las Vegas by attending their free annual outdoor event. Together, with their community partners, they will celebrate the science behind what we know about the past and present.

The Pleistocene (Ply-sto-seen) is a name for a time, not long ago, when Earth experienced glacial and interglacial periods. Pleistocene fossils at Tule Springs Fossil Beds are between 100,000-12,500 years old.

I am Mrs. Attebery, Counselor, who will be signing you up for the optional ASVAB Career Explorations Program. This assessment is not only for those interested in going into the military. It is for ALL students who want to explore their interests and how those interests can be connected to career opportunities.
***Test is open to 10th, 11th, and 12th graders
***The test must be taken on campus as you need the test code to take the assessment, so keep that in mind when deciding to sign up.
Test will be given:
December 11, 2024
Time: 9:00 am (Arrival 8:30 am)
Hours: 9:00 am -Noon (test is self-timed so may be quicker, but for planning expect around 4 hours)
Results: January 22nd @ 9:00 am (online test interpretation presentation)

PROJECT HOMELESS CONNECT EVENTS
The College Savings Division within the Nevada Treasury is proud to announce its 4th annual “What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up” Art Contest.
The contest encourages Nevada students in Pre-K through 12th grades to use their artistic skills and creativity to produce a work of art demonstrating what they’d like their future career to be, all while getting them and their families excited about post-secondary education.
Submissions will be open from August 12th until October 13th, 2024. Contest entries should follow the prompt “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Three winners from each grade level will receive a $1,000, $500 or $250 prize deposited into a Future Path 529 college savings account.
All individual student submissions can be uploaded to our website //www.nvigate.gov/contest. Teachers that wish to enter bulk submissions on behalf of their students and school can send an email to artcontest@nevadatreasurer.gov for instructions and assistance.
