Photography Contest Winners
Congratulations to the following art students, Ben Campbell and Emily Barnes, for being selected as entrants into the Winthrop University SC Schools Photography Contest. Both of these students have work hanging in the show. The show will be in McLaurin Hall in the Lewandowski Student Gallery from Jan 27th until February 7, 2014.
Emily Barnes is also the recipient of 1st place with an award to her of $250.

BHS Girls Lacrosse Family & Alumni Day – February 8, 2014

This will be a day of family fun and celebration! Festivities begin with a fierce and exciting game among our current team and alumni. A fundraising BBQ and many other carefree activities including the chance for everyone to pick up a stick and give it a try. FAFSA in February
College-bound seniors and their families should all be completing the FAFSA (the Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as soon as possible to receive financial aid for college. There will be weekly FAFSA help sessions at Blythewood High School throughout the month of February to help senior families fill out the FAFSA. This year, prom will take place on Saturday, April 26th at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. A ticket table will be set up Monday-Friday in the atrium AT LUNCH ONLY. Ticket sales are going on now and will end on April 3rd. Tickets are ONLY available at lunch. There are no exceptions. Make sure to have your student ID with you.
Remember that prom tickets are increasing by $5 every week until April 3rd.
If one wants to change who their date to prom is, make sure you let one of the Junior Class officers know at the table set up at lunch. Also, for seniors who attended prom last year, make sure to stop by the table to verify that you will be attending prom again this year. Those SENIORS who attended prom last year are allowed to get in to prom for free this year.Band Concert - Rescheduled
Community Education Classes
Registration has begun for community education classes. You may register until classes begin; however, early registration is recommended as courses fill early. For further information on any course offered, call 736-8787 ext. 25103. All classes meet at the Rogers Center.
Introduction to Computer Class: This course is for the complete beginner and is the perfect starting point to help you with a personal computer. You will learn basic skills such as how to use a mouse and navigate around the desktop. From the first class, you will have your hands on the keyboard and have plenty of time to practice and build your confidence. Class limited to 10 persons. Class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning April 28. 4 weeks. 8 sessions. 1-3pm, $60. Seniors 60 and over $30.
Introduction to Computers II: This class is for persons who have completed the Introduction to Computer Class and would like to further their training. This class addresses your special concerns and builds your confidence and skills. Mondays and Wednesdays, 1-3 pm, beginning February 3rd. $60. Seniors 60 and over $30.
I PAD AND IPHONE Devices You must bring your own iphone or ipad to class. Instruction will be given on maximizing its use. Tuesdays and Thursdays. March 18- March 27, 1-3PM. 4 classes $20.
Sparkleberry Fair Scholarship Opportunities

Child Development Applications
Richland Two’s Title I Child Development Program will be accepting applications
Monday, January 13, through Friday, April 11, 2014
• This is a needs-based program designed to ensure that the most
at-risk children enter kindergarten with the skills necessary to
succeed academically.
• The full-day program is free to qualifying families
• Children applying for the program must be four years old by
September 1, 2014.
• Applications will be taken at the Clemson Road Child Development
Center (CRCDC) at 2621A Clemson Road, Monday - Friday, from
8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
