A New Space
On Monday evening, several members of our district staff and leadership teams gathered to celebrate a ribbon cutting for the expanded and renovated Early Education Center and Birth to Five facility.
Our new and improved building features bright and colorful learning spaces which include: a playhouse, fully renovated library, classrooms, testing areas, offices, and a new storage area that holds toys, clothing, and supplies available for loan/distribution for those in need.
This project would not have been possible without the grant received from the Illinois State Board of Education. The grant collected around 240 applications, eight of which received funding. We are incredibly grateful to have received the largest award of 6.4 million dollars.
We are overjoyed to offer this space to our littlest learners!
Thank you to STR Partners, Allied Facility Partners, Schreiber Philanthropy, our RLAS Board of Education, administrators, staff, and the Round Lake District 116 Ed Foundation Kindergarten Readiness Committee for supporting our vision.

Candidate Forum
On October 22, the honors civics class, in collaboration with the Lake County League of Women Voters, hosted a candidate forum for the candidates competing in the Lake County Board District 2 race.
Students engaged closely with the League to receive training on forum operations, including moderation techniques and managing rule violations. They formulated the questions and executed the forum entirely.
Attendees included students from the government courses, who participated as the audience. The students received numerous compliments for their insightful questions and the overall execution of the forum.
Thank You for Joining Us At Hispanic Heritage Night
We had the most incredible night celebrating Hispanic heritage earlier this month, and none of it would have been possible without community! Thank you for attending, for cheering, and for sharing your culture with us. We're already looking forward to next year!
