Dear HLA Family,


After a fantastic start following the end of Ramadan, we wanted to share some exciting news with you. Our students, Betul Balaman and Ahmet Ziya Celebi won first and second place in a nationwide Quran competition. We are so proud of their hard work and dedication. Congratulations to our students and teachers!


We are also delighted to invite you to join us for the Horizon Leadership Academy Blue Jays Graduation Ceremony. This event will take place on May 27th, Saturday at 1 pm at the Raindrop Event Center. This ceremony is an important milestone in the academic journey of our students, and we are excited to celebrate their achievements with you. Please RSVP by May 20th to let us know if you will be attending the graduation ceremony.


Looking ahead, we are also excited to announce the Mini Olympics, which will be taking place soon. We can't wait to see our students compete and have fun! As the end of the school year approaches, we want to remind everyone to keep up the hard work and finish strong. We are proud of all of our students and the progress they have made.

QUR'AN COMPETITION

We are delighted to share that our students, Betul Balaman and Ahmet Ziya Celebi, recently participated in a nationwide Quran competition in the United States, competing against 60 other students from 12 different schools. We are incredibly proud to announce that Betul secured first place in the middle school category, while Ahmet secured second place in the high school category. Congratulations to our talented students and their teachers for their hard work and dedication in achieving such an exceptional accomplishment. We look forward to their continued success in the future.

MULTICULTURAL FAIR

The Multicultural Fair hosted by our school was a tremendous success. We were thrilled to see so many students and parents come together to celebrate the diversity of our community. The fair featured an array of interactive workshops, cultural performances, and delicious foods from around the world. We are grateful to all the parents who participated in making this event a success, and we appreciate the hard work and dedication of our students who did an outstanding job showcasing their cultures. We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our teachers who worked tirelessly to organize and execute this fantastic event. Their efforts were crucial in making the Multicultural Fair a memorable and educational experience for all involved. Thank you all for your support, and we look forward to celebrating our diverse community again in the future.

MINI OLYMPICS

Our school is excited to host the upcoming Mini Olympics event from May 5th to May 7th, in partnership with Horizon Leadership Academy and Bright Choice Foundation. The event will feature a range of sports competitions, including basketball, soccer, and track and field. Students, parents, and families are invited to participate in this fun-filled event, which also includes food sales, interactive activities, and much more. We can't wait to see you there!

FINALS WEEK

As we near the end of the school year, we would like to remind our students that finals week will begin on May 15th. This is an important time for our students to review the material they have learned throughout the year and to prepare for their final exams. We encourage all students to use their time wisely and to take advantage of the resources available to them, such as study groups, review sessions, and office hours with their teachers. We wish all students the best of luck on their final exams and encourage them to stay focused and motivated during this challenging time. Remember, hard work and dedication will pay off in the end.

ACADEMIC AWARDS

The academic awards ceremony for the 2022-2023 academic year will be held on May 22nd. We will celebrate the achievements of our outstanding students and recognize their hard work and dedication. We will honor our students' accomplishments and inspire them to continue striving for excellence.

SUMMER CONFERENCE

Horizon Leadership Academy is hosting a conference for middle schoolers called "Summer Success: A Conference on Productivity and Evaluation" on May 22nd. The speaker Ayse Balaman will provide valuable insights into time management, goal-setting, and self-evaluation. These skills are essential for success in and out of the classroom, and we look forward to seeing our students apply them in their academic and personal lives.

HAPPY TEACHER APPRECIATION MONTH

May is Teacher Appreciation Month, and we would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to all our teachers at Horizon Leadership Academy. We recognize and appreciate the dedication, hard work, and commitment that our teachers have shown to our students throughout the year. Their tireless efforts have enabled our students to learn and grow both academically and personally, and we are grateful for their unwavering support. Our teachers have gone above and beyond to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for our students, and we cannot thank them enough for their contributions to our school community. Thank you to all our teachers for everything you do, and we wish you a happy Teacher Appreciation Month.

GRADUATION

We are pleased to inform our school community that the 8th-grade graduation ceremony will take place on May 27th at 1 PM at Horizon Leadership Academy. This event marks a significant milestone for our graduating students, and we are proud of their achievements and hard work. We look forward to celebrating this special occasion with our students and their families. The graduation ceremony will be an opportunity to reflect on the students' educational journey and their growth over the years. We extend our warmest congratulations to our graduates and wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

NEW ENROLLMENT

The Horizon Leadership Academy is excited to announce the enrollment period for new students. In March, new students' families are encouraged to complete the enrollment process for the upcoming academic year. The enrollment process can be completed online. We are looking forward to welcoming our new students and are committed to providing them with the best education possible.
