Greetings Riverview families!

I hope you have had a summer filled with fun and relaxation. I will be your new interim principal for the 2024-25 school year and am so excited to work with this wonderful staff, students, and community.

This newsletter will be delivered every Friday (with the exception of this Friday) and will contain lots of important information including upcoming events, important dates, PTA information, and much more.

We are ready to greet you on two specific dates- August 8th for Popsicles and Principal for our incoming Kindergarteners and August 12th for Back-to-School Night for everyone! More specific information is below. We hope you can make these important events to meet the staff and other families. Our custodial staff, office staff, and teachers have worked hard to get the building ready. I am so impressed with this school. It is beautiful!

Our Back-to-School night will be held on August 12 from 5:00-6:30. This is casual event is a great way for you to come with your child to meet their teacher and drop off school supplies. If you ordered school supplies through the PTA, those supplies will be on student desks. Teacher video presentations will be sent out to families at a later date. We will split the time into two different times based on family last name (see below). This allows for conversations in a less crowded environment and helps with parking.

Back to School Night Times:

5:00-5:45—Family Last Name A-L

5:45-6:30—Family Last Name M-Z

Mark your calendars for Thursday, August 8 from 6:00-7:00 when our PTA will be hosting a meet-and-greet with the new Principal, Ms. Lea Ann Combs, for all kindergartners and new students and their families. Students (kindergartners and those new to our school + any siblings) are welcome to play while parents will have an opportunity to meet Ms. Combs as well as connect with other parents.

USD 232 is implementing a new visitor management system this year through Centegix. All visitors will continue checking in through the office, however an ID will be a requirement. This ID will be entered into the Centegix system and will create a sticker with a picture that must be visibly worn throughout the building. Nobody will be allowed in the building without an ID. Thank you in advance for your patience as we implement this new system!

At Riverview we are very safety conscious. Please see the map below for specific arrival/dismissal details.

Students/families who qualify financially will be eligible to receive free or reduced-price meals for the 2024-2025 school year. A new application must be completed each school year. Families may complete an Application for Free or Reduced Price School Meals online at skyward.usd232.org or by complete a paper copy.

If a family has already received communication that their child(ren) qualifies for free or reduced-price meals, a Consent for Disclosure/Waiver must be completed in order to receive a reduction in school fees or transportation.

School Meals Pricing

For all other students, meals will be charged at the following rates.

· Breakfast= $1.55 elementary; $1.65 middle and high school;

· Lunch = $2.85 elementary; $2.90 middle school; $3.00 high school;

· Extra milk/juice = $0.65

**One milk & one juice included in a meal; extras or milk/juice to accompany a home lunch will cost $0.65/carton**

On August 12th our staff would love to have a few hands in getting Riverview looking it's best to welcome students before the year begins. Please sign up for a time-slot below if you are able to come and lend a hand with jobs such as putting up bulletin boards, setting up student desks, sharpening pencils, and cutting out lamination. Each volunteer will report to the team that you sign up for and a staff member will help guide you. Thanks so much!!!

The PTA is hosting our annual ice cream social event on Friday, August 23 from 6-8 pm for all RE students and their families (including siblings). The event is free and will be held in the school lunchroom. Hope to see you there!
