Nepal we are with you!
The earthquake that struck Nepal is the worst earthquake in 80 years for the country, and it has not only taken lives but caused life-threatening living situations for hundreds of thousands of people. Though our SCI Nepal friends are found safe, thousands are fearing trapped under rubble.
Our hearts go out to the people of Nepal. Please stay close to us and we will bring you updates about Nepal and our action to the#NepalEarthquake
We will join our branches and our volunteer to help Nepal in everyday possible.
In addition to keep an eye on our updates, SCI has provided various supports to the affected areas in Nepal. And here is one of the opportunity to take actions for Nepal:
Help In reconstruction Of School building

Description: Due to the tremendous loss of life and property due to the earthquake.We being SCI member would like to hold SCI international Camp in Shree Ladkewori Lower Secondary School where we have already carried out previous camps.Due to the Recent disaster the classes are not in the condition to be operable.
Type of Work: Labour work For management of ruin of school building and surrounding area
Study Theme: Provison of healthy school building for stuents

Time : 5:00 pm -- Volunteer arrive SBSH Center
5:00 - 6:00pm -- Volunteer act as usher and welcome the SBSH Friends
6:00 - 7:10pm -- Interactive Program prepare by Volunteer (we welcome all kind of idea, singing performance, knowledge sharing, speech, drama, etc)
7:10 - 7:20pm -- Prepare for dinner
7:20 - 8:00 pm -- Dinner time
8:00 - 8:30pm -- Send-off, tidy up the Center and Debriefing

Traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony - start on May 12
The class will be conducted in Cantonese and English, every second Tuesday of the month. Our tea master Dr. Jack Liu is looking forward to sharing the ancient wisdom of China's traditions with you. The course fee is 150 HKD per session. The first class will take place on May 12.
Call for Participants to "Volunteering in the 21st Century" Seminar in Australia
Our partner IVP Australia and the Asian Development Committee are hosting the seminar "Volunteering in the 21st Century". The seminar will take place in Sydney, Australia from June 22 to June 27. After the seminar, there is a mini-workcamp from 27th of June to 30th of June. There are still free places available! If you are interested to join, please email sam@scichina.org.hk

Human Library Workcamp ended with inspirations and insights!
Between April 25 and May 3 SCI HK hosted a group of international volunteers here in Hong Kong. Our volunteers acted as Human Books in local educational institutions and introduced their diverse cultures to local students. We have visited schools in Shau Kei Wan, Yuen Long and Tsuen Wan as well as HKIED.
