Maneuvering the Middle
Scranton Middle School's Weekly Updates - August 16
7th Grade Orientation
7th Grade Orientation:
We have scheduled two separate dates for 7th-grade orientation. If you cannot attend your designated orientation date, please DO NOT send your student on the alternate date. The groups for these orientations are pre-arranged, and significant planning goes into these events. While orientation is not mandatory, it is a valuable introduction to Scranton Middle School.
Also, the orientation is the same as years past. The only difference is that we have divided 7th graders into two seperate days.
7th Grade Orientation Dates:
- Students with last names A-L: August 26, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
- Students with last names M-Z: August 27, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
Doors will open at 8:45 AM, and activities will start promptly at 9:00 AM. Please ensure your student is dropped off before 8:55 AM and picked up promptly at noon.
During orientation, students will:
- Have their pictures taken
- Receive a paper copy of their schedule (provided the Back-to-School Packet is completed)
- Tour the building with W.E.B. leaders
- Participate in team-building activities
If your student cannot attend their designated orientation date, they may come to registration in the afternoon on one of the listed dates to have their picture taken and receive their schedule. They can also self-tour the building and walk through their schedule.
IF YOUR STUDENT IS NOT SCHEDULED FOR A DAY AND THEY COME ON THE WRONG DAY, WE WILL HAVE THEM CALL YOU TO PICK THEM UP.
8th Grade Registration / 7th Grade Make-Up Registration:
8th Grade Registration / 7th Grade Make-Up Registration:
We have two dates for 8th graders to get their pictures taken, receive a paper copy of their schedule (provided the Back-to-School Packet is completed), and take a self-guided tour of the building. These dates are also available for 7th-grade make-up registration. If you have a 7th grader and they attended orientation, they do not need to attended these dates.
Registration Dates:
- All Students: August 26, from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
- All Students: August 27, from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
