LJC6 Mule Memo
Our Vision is to Inspire All Students to Achieve Excellence
February 25, 2025
Spring Break March 17 - 24
We survived Winter Break AND Snowpocolypse 1 & 2! Now let's get rolling into Spring. The elementary is reading, reading, reading during their Reading Madness Week. Middle School students enjoyed their dance ... (finally!) and are really working hard in their classes. HS scheduling for the upcoming year has already begun. Students will focus on what they need to tackle their courses this semester, but are also diving into planning for their future!
It's a great day to be a Mule!

On the Ballot in April
Board of Education Candidates
LJC6 has two open positions to be elected for three year terms.
Two individuals will be on the ballot.
Camille Lucito
David Miller
Academic Calendar
Above you will see a fact sheet regarding the April ballot question. Short version, the district is asking permission to continue utilizing the current academic calendar. Due to a change in legislation last May, the state now requires charter counties (Jackson) to ask voters approve their district calendars if under 169 days. LJC6 has always met the statutory requirement of 1044 hours. In 2013, the district and Board of Education approved the lengthening of the school day, to create more opportunities for full day teacher learning days and to eliminate any early release besides the last day of each semester. Every Board, in response to administration, teacher and family feedback has also approved this template for our calendar each year since. If approved by voters, LJC6 can remain implementing the current calendar for the next 10 years and/or continue to make the adjustments needed at the local level.
