King PTA Fall Festival October 26th
Buddy Bench in memory of Tristan Rael
A buddy bench is a special place where students can sit if they’re feeling lonely or need a friend. It promotes kindness, inclusion, and friendship among students. Mr. Abbott, husband of Mrs. Abbott, is building a special buddy bench for the King playground and we are dedicating this special bench to Tristan Rael, a student that tragically passed away last year. We want to give our families and community members who are interested an opportunity to help purchase materials for our buddy bench. There is no obligation to donate but if you are interested in donating there is a link below. If we collect more than we need to purchase materials we will use those additional funds to buy additional playground equipment for our students.
How You Can Help:
- Donate: Any amount helps! Every contribution brings us closer to our goal.
- Spread the Word: Share this message with friends and family.
Attendance Goals
We met our current goal to spell out LIONS by reaching 93% attendance for 4 days in a row and all classrooms are getting to enjoy music at lunchtime! Our next goal is to spell SCHOOL by having 95% or higher attendance for six days. When we reach our new goal students will be able to choose a school wide spirit day of either superhero day or pajama day! Our goal is 95% because we understand that there will be absences for illness and emergencies. We are hoping that outside of illnesses and emergencies all students will be attendance every day!

Absences and Tardies
D11 is focusing on the ABC's of learning this year:
Attendance
Behavior
Cell Phones
We want all students to maintain an attendance rate above 90%. To excuse your student, please call 719-328-6000.
To increase learning time we want all students in the classroom ready to learn at the 7:50 bell. Students who enter King after the 7:50 bell are tardy and will need to have a tardy pass from the office to enter the classroom. Thank you for helping us get started on time each morning!
Pre Arranged Absence Form
If your student is going to be out of town for an extended absence, please make sure to fill out the Pre-Arranged Absence Form a week in advance if possible. Parents please request missing work form classroom teachers.
Health Room Needs
Our Health room could use some clothing donations. Specifically, we could really use some size 10-14 pants, shirts, and jackets and boys K-1 clothes.
