Attendance: It's a Community Effort! Attendance: It's a Community Effort!

Attendance Matters: Our Goal is 90% regular attendance

At HRVHS, we know that life happens, and sometimes students need to miss school. However, we want our families to understand that both excused and unexcused absences can affect their child's learning due to loss of instruction, and their attendance record.

Try to stick to only excused absences, which include;

  • Illness or Injury

  • Medical appointments

  • Family emergencies (such as a death in the family)

  • Court appearances (with proper documentation)

  • Pre-approved school-related activities (such as field trips, outdoor school or sports events)

Always email or call to excuse absences as soon as possible;

Testing Update - Spring SAT Testing Update - Spring SAT

Attention Juniors and Families!

Hood River Valley High School will offer the SAT on March 18, 2025. This testing opportunity will happen during the school day at HRVHS.

HRVHS State Assessments and SEED Survey

HRVHS Juniors will complete annual state testing this year in April. Most students will take tests during their regular math, ELA, and science classes. The tests take 1-2 class periods and students will not miss out on any instruction, assignments or tests. All HRVHS 9th-11th graders will also take the annual state SEED survey this year during their advisory period. The Oregon Department of Education provides forms for families to decline to participate in state testing and/or the SEED survey. These forms must be delivered in person to the HRVHS main office by a guardian. Please bring photo ID. Non-testing students will be provided with a quiet activity to complete while other students are testing in the classroom. Please contact the main office if you have any questions.
