Principal's Message
Good Afternoon Tiger Cub Families,
It has been a busy and exciting week at LECC! We had a fantastic visit from River City Puppets, and the kids absolutely loved "The Hungry, Hungry, Hungry Bookworm." The laughter filling the building was truly wonderful to hear!
We also celebrated our newest Terrific Tigers this week—always a highlight! It’s inspiring to see our Tiger Cubs demonstrating Respect, Care, and Responsibility throughout the school.
Looking ahead, next week is packed with special visitors:
🦅 Raptors Inc. – A nonprofit organization dedicated to bird conservation
📚 American Publisher Assembly
✍️ Author Visit – Ms. Tara Calahan King
💖 The Valentine Lady – Visiting classrooms on Friday
Additionally, we held our first Kindergarten Registration Finalization meeting this week, and it was a great success! We loved welcoming our new families into the building.
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend!
Matt Patterson

Science and Innovation Expo 2025
This year Loveland will be hosting our first ever Science and Innovation Expo! The event will take place on Saturday, February 1st, 2025 from 9 am to 12 pm at Loveland High School. This day is an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the amazing learning that happens around Loveland! The Science and Innovation Expo is a one-day event that incorporates two pathways for students to pick from, a Science Expo and an Innovation Expo.
For more information about each pathway, click here to watch a video, or read the brief description below:
Here is more information about each pathway:
- The Science Expo is a traditional science fair where students have the opportunity to conduct a scientific research project or engineering design project, and present their findings to their peers and community judges, with the opportunity to qualify for Regional Science Day at University of Cincinnati, called the Science and Engineering Expo. If students achieve well at UC, they have the opportunity to qualify for State Science Day at Ohio State University. This pathway is open to students in grades 5-12, and students can present individually or up to groups of three.
- The Innovation Expo is an open-ended opportunity for students to identify a problem and solve it with something they will create, or to simply create and share something creative, inventive, or innovative. Some ideas may be a DIY craft, coding/computer science project, an engineering creation, or anything else in which your child creates something to share! This pathway is open to all students grades PreK-12, and community judges will provide informal feedback about strengths of each project, as well as areas to grow. Students can participate individually or up to groups of three.
To learn more details about the event, how to submit a project, project ideas, and project requirements, visit Loveland's website at https://lovelandschools.org/expo
For any questions, please reach out to innovation@lovelandschools.org. We hope to see you on February 1st!

Counselor's Corner
The state of Ohio requires that school districts provide an identification procedure for gifted/talented students. However, per the Ohio Department of Education, school districts are not required to serve. Click here to learn more about how Loveland serves gifted students. Loveland offers full grade testing in second and fourth grades. If parents/teachers wish to refer a student for gifted testing outside of the full-grade testing options, they may complete a Gifted Identification Referral Form. The referral testing options will take place during November and February. If you would like to refer your child for winter testing, the form is due to Jaime Heybruch, LECC School Counselor, no later than February 14, 2025. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Heybruch at heybruja@lovelandschools.org.
