Special Guests Share Knowledge and Skills
SHS students were treated to the outside expertise and knowledge of special guests this week. Pictured above are Mrs. Lehrke's Culinary Arts students, who learned how to make Wojapi, a Native American berry sauce, with Ms. Jennifer Saul.
Mrs. Schaefer's Intro to Ag students were treated to a visit Friday from the State FFA Officers who engaged with students and helped them recognize and develop leadership skills.
MacBeth in Many Forms
Ms. Prendergast's Senior Honors English students recently completed a three levels of reading group project for the play, MacBeth. Some of the English students and the Theatre I students will also have the opportunity over the weekend to travel to Brookings and see the play performed live at SDSU.
Dual Credit Enrollment Open
Dual Credit Registration is open for all eligible juniors and seniors. Please see Mrs. Filipek for more information.
Dual credits are classes that earn students both high and college credits at the same time. The courses cost $50.84 per credit hour or around $152 for a three-credit course and that is paid for by the student. These classes are taken online during the student's school day and are a great way for motivated college/technical school-bound students to get ahead on some of the general electives they will need. Eligibility requirements can be found at: https://public.powerdms.com/SDRegents/tree/documents/1677947
Region Oral Interp
Oral Interpers Liliana and Izzy competed at the Regional Oral Interp Meet held in Aberdeen on Tuesday. They competed well, got to experience other talented students from the area, and stopped for a celebratory treat at the Purple Cow on the way back to SHS.
Safety First!
FFA Students getting ready to participate in the Lake Area Weld-Off competition on December 4th take extra care in getting ready and following the shop safety rules! Looking good, and safe, ladies!
