The Principal's Note
Embracing the New!
While I have worked to maintain routines and traditions here at Platte-Geddes Elementary, I have added a few new ones in order to recognize the students and their efforts. Each quarter, the students have the opportunity to earn awards for Perfect Attendance, Principal's List, and Golden Specials Awards. Each quarter is a fresh start, and students may earn these awards multiple times per year. My next step in this process is to have an awards ceremony so families can attend to see their child being awarded. So stay tuned for updates!
I want to thank all of you for your cooperation with the Safety Dismissal Plan. The safety of our students is very important to me, and you are setting a wonderful example by following the guidelines and rules. The crosswalks were painted by our custodians, Mark and Kelly, so I want to give a shout out to them! Thank you!
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas! One of my top goals this school year is to bring the families back into the school!
Best in Education,
Ms. Amanda Goodrich

🧣Dressing for Weather🧤
Temperature Feels like:
- 0 or below – Recess will be indoors. 🥶
- 1-32 degrees - Coats, hats, and gloves will be worn. Boots and snow pants will be worn when snow covers the ground and students wish to play in the snow-covered areas. ⛄
- 33-49 degrees – A Coat or Jacket is required for recess 🧥
- 50+ degrees - Student choice 🧐
We only have a few coats on hand at the school, so if a coat is required & a student does not have one, they may have to stay inside. Hoodies and sweatshirts do not count as a coat.
