The Princi"pal" Post2
Dear Tiger Families,
Thank you so much for your understanding as we worked to improve our dismissal procedures to better serve you. Please note that if you ever have any concerns or feedback I am always here to listen. If I am not immediately available, I will do my best to respond to you in a timely manner or have an assistant principal contact you.
SAFETY DRILLS: Next week, we will have several safety drills. Please note that we practice to ensure should anything unfortunate happen, we can keep our tigers and tiger staff safe. There is nothing to be alarmed about, students will practice and learn about the drills before they happen.

Tiger Families,
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports is a school-wide system of support that creates a positive school culture. It includes evidence-based prevention & intervention practices that supports the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral competence of all students.
Our core values, TIGERS Traits, are part of PBIS and define who we are as a campus and our schoolwide expectations. Review with your child each of the traits below and discuss what it looks like to model these values at home.
How is your child going home?
Bus Dismissal Changes
- Please note that if your child's way home will change to bus it will not go into affect until the following day. For example, if you recieve approval from the transporation office on tuesday, the campus will then ensure on Wednesday (the next day) that your child rides the bus. Day of changes for Bus will not be allowed without principal permission.
Take Advantage of the SMART Tag Parent Features
The SMART tag™ system helps increase safety and security for students riding on a school bus, leveraging technology to improve student management and communications on school buses. SMART tag™ monitors the location of each tablet-equipped school bus, including student loading and unloading, providing real-time information to the Transportation Department and you, the parent.

PARENT LUNCH VISITOR AUGUST DAY CANCELED
August Parent Lunches Canceled
Due to a lack of accommodating space in the cafeteria, we are working to create a plan that does not limit the number of families that desire to eat lunch with their student. At this time there is no space in the cafeteria to accommodate lunch visitors. All seats and tables are filled with our tigers. To ensure safety and adherence to the fire code, we need to develop a plan that continues our parent partnership and allows you the opportunity to make lasting memories with your child at Epps Island.
Be on the lookout for further information regarding parent lunches!

Clinic Corner
WELCOME BACK!!!
We are going to have a great year!
Dear Tiger Family, if your child will need a prescribed medication while at school, there has been a change to Klein ISD procedures. Prescribed medications will need a written order by a licensed healthcare provider. Clinic staff will not be able to use the prescription label as proof of the written medical order, as in the past. The licensed healthcare provider can use the Klein ISD Medication Authorization form, an action plan, or a letter from their office to provide their signed consent. If you have any questions, please contact our school clinic at 832-484-5747
A few reminders: ALL medications must be brought to the clinic by a parent or guardian. Students are not allowed to carry them in their backpacks. Every medication also needs a physician's order.
Please make sure your students are up to date on their immunizations before the start of school.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out!
