"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."
From the Principal
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what we’re grateful for, and I’m especially thankful for my wife, Carla, my son, Cole, my daughter, Kailey, and my extended family. I’m also grateful for my Battlefield family. For the past fourteen years, it has been a true honor to work with our amazing staff, students, and parents. Your support and the warm greetings I receive each day bring joy to my work.
Battlefield Elementary wouldn’t be what it is without our wonderful families. Thank you for making our school such a welcoming and enriching place. I hope your Thanksgiving is filled with warmth and gratitude.
This season, I encourage you to share a message of thanks with our staff—a quick note, phone call, or email can mean a lot to them.
As winter approaches, please sign up for our text alerts if you haven’t yet. This helps us keep you updated on school closings or delays. If you need help with setup, just call. In January, we’ll send home a new “Early Dismissal” form to make sure we have the latest info in case of severe weather.

Student Attendance
Parents,
I want to take a moment to emphasize how critical regular attendance is to your child’s success at school. Consistent attendance builds strong academic foundations, supports social development, and fosters lifelong habits of responsibility and commitment. Each school day is an opportunity for your child to engage, learn, and grow!
In addition to the educational benefits, it’s important to remember that Georgia law mandates regular school attendance for all children between the ages of 6 and 16.
We understand that illnesses and certain family situations may sometimes prevent a child from attending school. In those instances, we ask that you notify us and provide an excuse for each absence to help keep our records accurate.
Let’s work together to make this school year a successful one for every student. Thank you for prioritizing your child’s attendance and for partnering with us in their educational journey.
Below are our attendance statistics from August 8, 2024 through October 31, 2024.
- 719 Tardies (212 Students)
- 419 Early Releases (227 Students)
- 983 Absences (313 Students)
