Dear MacArthur Families,

Thank you to all of our parents who attended our recent parent-teacher conferences. I appreciate you taking the time to meet with your child's teacher, and I hope that the conference was able to provide you with some valuable insight into your child's progress in school. Please continue to stay in touch with your child's teacher and please continue to work collaboratively to help provide your child with the best school experience possible.

A huge thank you to our PTO for organizing and sponsoring our Trunk or Treat event and to each of the families that donated candy. Also, a HUGE thank you to all of our teachers and staff who are giving up an evening with their own families to sponsor a decorated vehicle for our kids. We had some very creative themes that our students enjoyed! It was by far our largest turnout and so great to see all of the students dressed up in costume.

Join CPCSC superintendent Dr. Todd Terrill for coffee & conversation at the CPCSC Administration building at 9 a.m. on October 31st. No presentation or talking points - this is simply an opportunity to engage in conversation with the community. Please note our new address: 1050 S. Main Street (former Taft Middle School site). Whether you have specific questions or would just like to learn more about our schools, please join us for an informal talk. Coffee and cookies will be provided.

Open interviews for paraprofessional positions will be held November 1, 2023 from 8 am to 2pm at the CPCSC Administration Center. Interested applicants should bring a resume to their interview. You can apply now or learn more by visiting www.cps.k12.in.us/para.

The Book Fair will be happening at MacArthur October 31st-November 3rd. Students will shop during their scheduled library time that week. Parents can send cash, check, or load money to the Scholastic eWallet. Please see directions below on how to add money to the eWallet for cashless shopping.

Thank you to everyone who participated in Red Ribbon Week! I encourage everyone to have a conversation with your families about the importance of making healthy and safe choices- what Red Ribbon Week is all about! Congratulations to the students who won the Red Ribbon Week coloring contest!

Yearbook orders can be place until March 1st. They will be distributed at the end of April 2024.

This year's group of Wise Workers are such a great bunch of students! Wise Workers help with a variety of things around the school including: monitoring the hallways, collecting recycling, hanging the flags- just to name a few!

If you would like to earn a little extra money but still be home in the morning, nights, weekends, and holiday breaks, please consider working in our cafeterias and kitchens. It’s a very rewarding experience and you will be connected to our schools.

As our district-wide capital improvement projects continue, MacArthur Elementary will temporarily serve only cold lunches. Our food services team remains committed to providing healthy meals that meet all requirements of the federal school lunch guidelines. We will keep you updated on the progress of our new kitchen and the timeline for returning to the traditional lunch menu. Thanks for your understanding as we build new opportunities to better serve our students.
