Purim
Celebrated this past Weekend-March 23 and 24
Purim is a celebration where the retelling of the Book of Esther and her story is celebrated. Liberating the Jewish people from a tyrant King.
One student at BHMS said it is one of the most fun holidays! Great food and great gatherings.
Enjoy Mayim Bialik's explanation of Purim.
Easter
Easter is the Christian Holiday that celebrates the belief of the resurrection of Jesus Christ occurring three days after his crucifixion. Easter is the conclusion of the 40 day fasting Lent period. The week before Easter also has significance to Christians: Palm Sunday-Christ entering into Jerusalem. Holy Thursday-The last supper of Jesus Christ and Good Friday-The Crucifixion of Christ is observed.
In America, most observe the traditions of Easter Sunday that come from paganism, years before Christianity. Such traditions are Egg Hunts, Egg Decorating and Egg Rolling.

The Kumeyaay-Ipai Interpretive Center of Pauwai (Poway) is a five acre site rich in the local history of the Kumeyaay-Ipai Indian tribes. Follow the trails past ramadas, interpretive signage, native gardens and a replica of an 'ewaa (native Kumeyaay house). Morteros (grinding stones) left by the original Kumeyaay inhabitants still remain on this historic site. Also visit the Education Center to view artifacts and other interesting historical items and photos.
