PSAT & Rebel Kickstart Thanks!
Thanks to everyone for a smooth day of PSATs and Rebel Kickstart on November 12th. Shout out to Mrs. Laughlin, Mr. Rohwedder, Mr. Chapleau, and our amazing technology staff for their careful planning, which made it possible to administer tests to over 500 students at once, all on computers! What also made testing go very smoothly was that our students were on time for the tests, and attentive to the task at hand.
Thanks also to our school counseling staff for offering great sessions for our seniors as they prepare for life after high school!
Procedure Updates
PLEASE Limit Item Drop Off
We have noticed an uptick in the number of "forgotten" items that are being brought to school each day. Our office staff is not able to handle the constant traffic during the day. We need your help! Be sure your student is prepared with everything they need before coming to school. If the problem persists, parents/guardians will be asked to leave items outside, to be retrieved by students during their lunch period or after school.
Pull All The Way Up in the Morning
During morning drop-off, we ask that parents/guardians dropping off their students pull past the high school crosswalk to the end of the sidewalk if you are the head of the moving line. This will allow us to move traffic more efficiently during morning drop off. We encourage all students to take the bus to ensure on-time arrival in class.

Faculty In Action!
Dr. Miller is a Google Champion!
Last week, Dr. Miller, CTE department Chair, attended a Google Champions Symposium with 130 other educators from all over the world. The invite only symposium brought top educators and teacher trainers together to discuss and collaborate on how to help students be successful, how to address social emotional learning and how to incorporate modern technologies including Artificial Intelligence into education. Teachers presented visions of the future of education to top Google executives. “An unexpected benefit of attending the symposium” Dr. Miller said, “was the opportunity to watch a professional broadcasting crew work behind the scenes. Everyone on the crew was so friendly. After telling me that the equipment was proprietary one crew member let me look behind the curtain both figuratively and literally. The crew patiently answered my questions and inspired my vision on how to make New Fairfield High School’s video and broadcasting program world class.” Dr. Miller plans on sharing lessons learned with colleagues.
