Google Maps contributions by Mr. Krishnamurthy
I have contributed a lot of photos to Google Maps (around 2000 contributions mostly nature, scenery and historic sites) of landmarks I have visited, not surprisingly most of them are during Scout trips. I have been ranked by Google as local guide level 7 and Google has sent me several Google memorabilia and pins in acknowledgement. My pictures have gotten almost 6 million views. These pictures help with Google images and pop up when you search in Google maps for reviews and helps travellers get a better idea of the site they want to visit. This helps promote tourism, geographical and cutural awareness.
One great advantage of going for Scouting camps and trips is you get to see places you otherwise would not have seen and get to enjoy nature and outdoors, ofcourse make memories and take great pictures.
Here is a link to my photo contributions to Google Maps.

If you go into the link and navigate to "See all photos" and sort by most viewed. You will see the most popular pictures by views and sorted in descending order of views (see attached screenshot)
The most popular pictures is the one I took of the David Willis house during our Gettysburg trip. This got almost 2 Million views. This is the building where Lincoln stayed the night before his famous address and wrote his speech. You can see our Scouts huddle before the building next to his statue.
Feel free to explore and check out other pictures I have taken.
Dignity Dash Volunteering by Aryan R.
The Dignity Dash organized by Alternatives Inc. provided an incredible opportunity for us as Boy Scouts to support a vital cause without participating in the race itself. Instead of running, we took on the role of enthusiastic cheerleaders, encouraging the participants as they made their way along the course. It was inspiring to see the determination on their faces and to be part of an event that celebrated resilience and community spirit. Our cheers and support created a vibrant atmosphere, reminding everyone that we were all united in promoting dignity and understanding for adults facing mental health challenges.
In addition to cheering on the runners, we gave out water bottles along the route to ensure everyone stayed hydrated. This was a small but significant way to contribute to the event’s success. As we handed out water, we had the chance to connect with participants and share in their excitement. The gratitude expressed by the runners reinforced the importance of community support, and it was heartwarming to see how our efforts could make a difference in their experience. Every smile and thank you made the day feel even more rewarding.
Being part of the Dignity Dash taught us valuable lessons about compassion. It highlighted the importance of standing together as a community and supporting those who may face challenges that are often overlooked. Our experience at the event deepened our understanding of mental health issues and the significance of raising awareness. We left feeling proud of our contributions.

I joined scouting as I really liked the fiirst few meetings so the meetings after it took a little bit of time to adjust to but now I am all set and ready to become an eagle scout. I am liking scouts so far. My favorite event/s was the car wash or the bike ride. I liked the patrol meetings and I haven't gone on a trip yet although I am planning to go on the next one.

Outdoor Ethics Guide-Sahishnu
Outdoor ethics guides help troops plan and conduct an outdoor program that emphasizes effectively practicing the Outdoor Code, the Leave No Trace principles, and the Tread Lightly! principles. Guides work to help Scouts improve their outdoor ethics decision-making skills to help minimize impacts as they hike, camp, and participate in other outdoor activities. In particular, they should support Scouts who are working to complete the relevant requirements for the Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class ranks.
