Eagleville Express
Late August 2024
Principal's Note:
Hi Families!
The beginning of the year is always an exciting time. It's a time of renewed energy and excitement. Our teachers and staff have been hard at work over the last few weeks preparing for an amazing year. They deserve a huge thank you for the dedication and hard work they have already put in to make sure we have an awesome start.
This year we are focusing on growing together as a community. We are excited to continue growing our skills in not only academics, but our problem solving, creativity, environmental skills and more. We are looking forward to seeing our students blossom into the leaders we know they can be.
Hope to see you all at open house on Wednesday. In order to allow our teaching staff and outside groups ample time to set up, please wait until 4:30 to arrive at Eagleville. A special thank you in advance to the PTO for adding the cookout piece to the evening, certainly adds to the idea that we are all one big family. Read more about it in the flyer below!

Introducing Playworks!
We're excited to announce a meaningful partnership to make recess safer and more enjoyable for all Eagleville students. This year, we're collaborating with Playworks Wisconsin, an organization that seeks to improve the health and well-being of children by increasing opportunities for physical activity and safe, meaningful play. [Learn More About Playworks Wisconsin]
This partnership aims to create a recess environment where safety is a priority, and students can actively participate in creative and energetic activities. With the support of our staff, we'll introduce new and engaging games every month, ensuring students understand the rules of games before new ones are incorporated while still allowing the space for kids to be kids.
To facilitate these activities, we've acquired new, high-quality playground equipment. To maintain a safe and consistent environment, we ask that students refrain from bringing personal items to the playground. If your child recommends additional playground equipment, we're open to suggestions.
Why Choose Playworks? Our Eagleville Way expectations of “Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Safe” closely aligns with Playworks' mission: to enhance the health and well-being of children by providing more opportunities for physical activity and safe, meaningful play.
As a program that will be initiated in all MASD elementary schools, we're eagerly looking forward to launching this initiative and can't wait for our students to benefit from this enriched playtime experience.

Parent Volunteers
Eagleville and the Mukwonago Area School District understands that it takes students, staff, and the community to build better schools. One way the community can support our schools is through their time. We are grateful for the help of volunteers at each of our schools.
In order to provide for the safety and well-being of our students the Board of Education requires a background check for all volunteers. Background checks will be conducted prior to the individual’s first assignment in the District. Approval of volunteer applications are subject to District review.
If you are interested in volunteering, you will need to complete the online volunteer application no later than five school days prior to your first volunteer assignment in our schools. Your approved volunteer application will remain active for two years and is good for any school in the District.
Absences/Tardies
If your child is going to be absent or tardy, please call the attendance line to let us know before 8:30am. Dial the main office 262-363-6258 and choose option “1” at the prompt. This voicemail line is available twenty-four hours a day. Please leave the following information:
Name of child who is absent
Name of teacher
Reason for the absence or tardiness (if tardy, leave lunch choice).
We need this information for our attendance records and must have the reason in order to consider it an excused absence/tardy. If we do not have a message from a parent or guardian (not another child) we will have to call you at home or at work to verify the absence. This is for the safety of our students. You may also request homework at this time, either to be sent home with another child or for pick-up at the end of the school day.
If your family is planning a vacation or other time off during the school year, please complete a Planned Absence Form and return it to the office at least two weeks prior to the absence.
School Picture Day - Monday Sept. 9th
Here is the link for picture day ordering information. School pictures will be on Monday, September 9th during the school day. If you are unable to access the link, printed copies will be available in the school office. Send the completed form with payment when your child has their picture taken. Copies of the order form will be available with the photographers also.

School Birthday Treat Policy
All birthday treats sent to school must be pre-packaged or packaged into easy to serve individual servings. All treats must be “nut free” and sensitive to any allergies within the classroom. The treats should not require refrigeration or freezing. The teacher will determine an appropriate time and manner for items to be distributed so as not to disrupt the classroom learning
Gifts, balloons and decorations should be kept at home to celebrate with your family. Deliveries to the classroom will not be allowed. It is not acceptable for parents to bring in balloons, flowers or deliveries.
A Note from Orchestra
Students in 4th grade are eligible to join the orchestra and learn to play a stringed instrument (violin, viola, or cello). If you didn’t get a chance to sign up last spring and would like to join before our first lesson, it’s not too late! Please reach out to Mr. Wimer at wimerda@masd.k12.wi.us to get the information you need and to get enrolled into the orchestra.
