SMENCIL-Mania is about to hit the MGES Hallways! SMENCILs are our annual fundraiser for Unified Games/Special Olympics which takes place May 3 this year. and all profits go to benefit the Unified Games. SMENCILs (smelly-pencil) cost $1 each.
SMENCIL sales start Monday, April 22 and go through the week until we run out! Sales are from 8:45-9:00 AM. We have our original scents and are excited to bring out some special edition scents that are completely brand new!
SMENCILS are first-come, first-get. Exact cash ONLY - NO change given (If your child brings $20 they receive 20 SMENCILs); U.S. Currency ONLY.

Join us for an evening of our 2nd Walk Around the World Family Night on Tuesday, May 21st. You can "Walk Around the World" from 6:00-7:30 pm, pizza will be served from 6:00-7:00 pm, and a Folk Dance performance will take place at 6:30 pm. If you come to the school to pick up your child(ren) for an appointment or early release, you can check the lost and found also. We will once again be donating what is left in the lost and found to a charity group when our Spring break starts. Be sure to check for lost items before time runs out!

There have been changes in the Student Handbook regarding Dr. Notes this year. In the past, you could turn in a note for excusing a students' absence at any time. The CG Community School Corporation changed that rule starting in 2023. Please read the new guidelines taken from page 10 of the 2023-24 Student Handbook.

Reminder: If you DO NOT have a car tag #, you cannot choose to make your student a car rider in Pick Up Patrol. You must have a Car Tag # to get in the Car Line. The car tag needs to be in your car every day. If you do not have your car tag, you will need to have your ID ready.

Please be sure that all cars participating in carline are using all three lanes. By using all three lanes we prevent Whiteland Road from backing up. We appreciate your cooperation and help!

Want to volunteer in your child's classroom, go on the field trip or participate in class parties/events? Background checks are required to volunteer at MGES. Click HERE to get to the district background check page on the website.

*Please note: background checks are for classroom volunteers; visitors are still not permitted in the building during the school day. Volunteers need to check in at the window in the foyer with your driver's license/identification card in order to receive a badge and enter the school building.

Please remember to have your student bring a water bottle (with their name on it) and a snack to school every day. If you would like to make a snack donation to your child's classroom, that would be great. Make sure it is a healthy snack. We appreciate your help.

Enter appointment information into Pick Up Patrol under "Early Release". (Even if you will be bringing them back to school from an appointment), you must enter the information into Pick Up Patrol. (This does NOT go into "Plan Changes". Plan changes are for how your child is going home if there is a change.)

After entering the pick up information, you will be asked for the time, reason, and the FULL NAME of the person picking up your child. You can add any other information you feel is necessary, including what they will do at dismissal.

• Exterior doors remain locked throughout the school day. Please ring the doorbell if you need assistance.
• The vestibule (entryway) is secured. Visitors/Parents will not be permitted in the building beyond the vestibule. If you are dropping off a child or picking up a child from the clinic, you will check in with Mrs. Schneider and your child will meet you in the vestibule. If you are picking up your child/children for an early dismissal, PUP must be updated with the students early dismissal plans in order for us to allow a parent into the building.
• If you need to drop off/pick up items from school, there is a pass-through door located next to Mrs. Schneider. Make sure your child's name/room # or teacher name is on the item(s).
• Be sure to have your ID on you at all times when entering the building. We will still be checking ID's before any student can be checked out of the building.
  
• All students being picked up at the end of the school day will be a part of our car rider line.
