TVUSD Would Like to Hear From You
Will TVUSD see you next year?
As TVUSD begins planning for the 25/26 school year, we would appreciate it if you could take a moment to let us know if your child(ren) WILL NOT be returning for next school year. If your student(s) will be continuing their enrollment within any TVUSD, there is no need to complete the questionnaire. We appreciate your time.
March into Great Attendance
How does attendance affect funding?
The State of California funds attendance not absences. That is why schools in California are funded on Average Daily Attendance (ADA). ADA is the primary funding source for all schools/school districts in California.

School Attendance Matters
Love your School, be in School
What if my student has to be out of school for an extended period of time?
If your child must go out of town for one to fourteen days, you may request that your child is signed up for an Short-Term Independent Study Agreement. Please note this is a site’s decision and that teachers need at least one week’s notice in order to prepare materials without interrupting their instructional time. By enrolling in Short-Term Independent Study, and your student has the work completed upon return, your child would be marked present for those days they were gone.
What is Chronic Absenteeism?
Students are considered chronically absent when they miss 10 percent or more of school for any reason. Left unaddressed, chronic absence can translate into students having difficulty learning to read by Grade 3, reaching grade-level standards in middle school, and graduating from high school.
California Education Code (EC) Section 60901(c)(1) defines it as “a pupil who is absent on 10 percent or more of the school days in the school year when the total number of days a pupil is absent is divided by the total number of days the pupil is enrolled and school was actually taught in the regular day schools of the district, exclusive of Saturdays and Sundays.”
Intradistrict Transfers are now open!
The Intradistrict Transfer window for TK - 12 grade is now open. If you are interested in your student attending another school beside Abby Reinke (or if you will be attending middle school, one that is different then your homeschool) for the 25-26 school year, please submit your request before January 31, 2025.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact : Jpalumbo@tvusd.us
Parents interested in volunteering in classrooms, field trips or Running Club, must complete volunteer paperwork and have an up-to-date TB test on record. Please make sure your paperwork has been submitted through Raptor or given to the front office. Please click here for link to the TVUSD Volunteer page.
PTA connects families, schools and communities by providing programs and services at your child’s school. PTA is the nation’s largest volunteer-led child-advocacy association working to drive improvements in the education, health and well-being of all children and families. When you are a member of PTA, you are an advocate for your child and for all children.
