Dear Ridgeview United,

As we wrap up the first quarter, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for a wonderful start to the school year! It’s been great to see our students thriving, and we are excited to continue building on this positive momentum.

Last school year, the school governance council ("SGC") took the opportunity to reset our uniform dress code, and I’m pleased to report that it has been well-received. Our administrators are enforcing the dress code with dignity and professionalism, as we truly care for our students and their well-being. We believe that the Ridgeview uniform helps (1) create school spirit, unity and equality (2) reduce classroom distractions and (3) foster a sense of self-pride in our students. We ask for your partnership in ensuring that all students are coming to school in clothing that adheres to our uniform dress code and talking to your students about the importance of respecting its requirements. Working together, we can cut down on dress-code related conversations and focus our energy in other positive directions.

As we head into fall break, I encourage everyone to take some time to relax and rejuvenate. Thank you for your continued support and dedication!

You will be able to view your child's grades finalized 1st Quarter Grades in Infinite Campus starting on October 18th. This is a great opportunity to check in on your child's progress and support their learning journey.

Join us for Technology Night in the RCMS Media Center. Technology Night is designed to help you navigate Infinite Campus, Class Link and other essential school platforms. This event will provide valuable insights and hands-on guidance to help you stay informed and engaged in your child's education.

Did you know RCMS is one of the largest middle school band programs in the County? Ridgeview is pleased to welcome Brooke Owen as our SECOND full-time Band Director!

Ms. Owen is originally from Peachtree City, Georgia and received her Bachelor's degree from Georgia State University. She currently lives in Atlanta. Some of Ms. Owen's goals for this year are increasing participation in GMEA's All-State auditions and helping student's prepare for their LGPE performances in the spring. In addition to Music, Ms. Owen enjoys painting, reading, and hiking.

Red Ribbon Week highlights the importance of living a drug-free life. Help us celebrate this week by taking advantage of these themed-dress days during the week of October 21st!

Our Basketball Tryout Season has begun! Tumbling (7th & 8th Grade only) tryouts will take place later in the month. Please remember to check our Athletics Schedules website for all information related to sports schedules!
