Inclement Weather Procedures: Making the Call
The MRH School District has established guidelines for inclement weather days. Here's what you need to know:
Districtwide Snow Days:
The first three (3) school closures due to inclement weather will be designated as traditional snow days.
Teachers will not hold classes or assign additional work for these days.
These snow days will not impact the overall academic calendar.
After Three Snow Days:
Any school closures beyond the first three days will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
These closures may utilize the district's Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Plan. This plan outlines alternative learning activities that can be completed remotely.
You can find the complete AMI Plan on the "Weather Closings" page of our website.
Individual Building Closures:
Closures affecting individual schools due to events other than district-wide snow days will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
These closures may also utilize the AMI Plan as needed.
We encourage you to review the AMI Plan on our website to familiarize yourself with the remote learning procedures. This information helps ensure clear communication and a smooth transition to alternative learning methods in case of school closures.

Candidates File for MRH School Board Seats in April Election
Three candidates have filed for two seats which will open on the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District Board of Directors. All three candidates appearing on the April 8 municipal election ballot have children attending MRH schools.
Current Board Director Brian Matz of Richmond Heights, who was elected last year to fill out an unexpired term, is running once more for a full 3-year term. Also seeking a full term is Julie Francois of Maplewood. In 2023, she was appointed to the MRH Board to fill a vacancy created by a resignation but was unable to keep the seat in the April 2024 election. Rounding out the ballot is Dan Peterson of Richmond Heights.
Current Board Secretary Linda Robinson is not seeking reelection.
A date for a student-produced candidates’ forum will be announced soon.
Join Our Crusade for Mental Health Awareness
On May 10, 2025, MRH will once again participate in the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Walk in Creve Coeur Park. Founded in 1979, NAMI is a non-profit organization that works to improve the lives of people affected by mental illness. They provide support, education, and awareness through events such as the annual NAMIWalks St. Louis. Last year, NAMIWalks St. Louis was a record-breaking event, with over 1,300 participants including MRH employees and families representing Team Blue Devils. EVERYONE is welcome to join us again this year! Tap here or on any of the images below to get started with registration.
Remember, 1 in 5 adults live with a mental health condition, making your efforts even more impactful. We hope to see you on May 10!
Blue Devil Spotlight:
This week, the Blue Devil aims his spotlight on our incredible maintenance team! While icy weather might mean a cozy day off for most of us, these dedicated individuals are out there braving the elements to ensure our campuses are safe and ready for everyone’s return. From clearing snow to salting walkways, their hard work and commitment often go unnoticed, but we see you, and we appreciate everything you do to keep our schools running smoothly. Thank you for your dedication to our district — you’re the backbone of our community!
