Year 4 Hauraki Gulf Trip
This week, Year 4 have ventured into the Hauraki Gulf as part of their Marine Inquiry. They have been learning about the biodiversity of living things and how they play a part within our Marine Ecosystem.
Each class has been fortunate to explore the Hauraki Gulf with John Charteris - a Natural Science advisor who has worked with our school for several years. We are very lucky to have his expertise for this trip. Thank you to the parents who offered their help with this trip
Zone Touch Rugby
Earlier in the week, 40 Year 5 and 6 students headed to Carlton Rugby Club for the Zone Touch Rugby Tournament. Our students displayed great enthusiasm and sportsmanship on the day.
Congratulations to the Girls A Team who placed third in the tournament, and to all our students who participated.
Our thanks to Karen Moore and Dom Reed who worked behind the scenes with the trials, coaching and organisation on the day, and of course to our parent volunteers and supporters who attended.
Colour Run
Fundraising is well underway with students slowly signing up for the MENPS PTA Colour Run, scheduled for Friday, March 21. If you haven’t already, please take the time to sign up your child/ren following the link below. The money raised this year will go towards the redevelopment of a playground in the school.
The event promises to be a fun filled day for the students and our community.
Opera in Schools
Tomorrow, Year 3 and 6 will experience a performance by NZ Opera in Schools. Opera in Schools productions are crafted to enable tamariki to experience the sheer delight and fun that opera has to offer. Our students will enjoy a 40 minute adaptation of Donzinetti’s “Elixir of Love”, reworked from the original to suit schools. The production features costumes and sets that transport students to the heart of the opera’s world. After the performance, students have the opportunity to meet the artists, getting an up-close look at the performers who bring these captivating stories to life.
