LPS Tiger Talk
January 10, 2025
Message From The Principal
Dear LPS Families,
I hope your new year is off to a smooth start! It was great having our Tigers back and getting the second semester started. Our kiddos didn't miss a beat as we jumped back into our established routines and procedures throughout the building.
First semester report cards were posted to Tigerparent.me today (1/10) for families. I encourage you to take a look at the progress your child is making and to reach out to the classroom teacher with any questions or concerns. Thanks for sharing your Tiger with us!
We hope you have a wonderful weekend. We will see our Tigers back on Monday.
Sincerely,
Kevin Fancher
Reminder For All Of Our Families Regarding Electronic Communication Devices
We thought that following the holidays, when it is possible that some of our students received cell phones/smart watches as presents, that we should remind everyone about the district policy regarding electronic communication devices for grades K-6.
Grades K-6: The use of cell phones (which would include smart watches used for communication purposes) by students in grades K-6 is strictly prohibited at all times. Cell phones must be turned off and stored in backpacks or lockers throughout the school day.
Further information can be found in the Student Handbooks. Thank you for your support!

Kindness Club
Our next LPS Kindness Club project will be collecting the aluminum tabs from your soda (and other) cans for the Cincinnati Ronald McDonald House. They earn money for each pound of pop tabs and typically earn more than $20,000 per year to help support their families and to help fund other projects. We will be collecting pop tabs throughout both January and February, until February 28th. Please put the tabs in a baggie/container and send them in whenever you have them...the more we can deliver to The Ronald McDonald House, the more families we can help. Thank you!
Science And Innovation Expo
This year Loveland will be hosting our first ever Science and Innovation Expo! The event will take place on Saturday, February 1st, 2025 from 9 am to 12 pm at Loveland High School. This day is an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the amazing learning that happens around Loveland! The Science and Innovation Expo is a one-day event that incorporates two pathways for students to pick from, a Science Expo and an Innovation Expo.
For more information about each pathway, click here to watch a video, or read the brief description below:
Here is more information about each pathway:
- The Science Expo is a traditional science fair where students have the opportunity to conduct a scientific research project or engineering design project, and present their findings to their peers and community judges, with the opportunity to qualify for Regional Science Day at University of Cincinnati, called the Science and Engineering Expo. If students achieve well at UC, they have the opportunity to qualify for State Science Day at Ohio State University. This pathway is open to students in grades 5-12, and students can present individually or up to groups of three.
- The Innovation Expo is an open-ended opportunity for students to identify a problem and solve it with something they will create, or to simply create and share something creative, inventive, or innovative. Some ideas may be a DIY craft, coding/computer science project, an engineering creation, or anything else in which your child creates something to share! This pathway is open to all students grades PreK-12, and community judges will provide informal feedback about strengths of each project, as well as areas to grow. Students can participate individually or up to groups of three.
To learn more details about the event, how to submit a project, project ideas, and project requirements, visit Loveland's website at https://lovelandschools.org/expo
For any questions, please reach out to innovation@lovelandschools.org. We hope to see you on February 1st!
