Little Braves News
November 2024 Edition
Principals Message
Welcome to the third six weeks! October was so much fun from book fair and literacy night, to field trips, and halloween festivities. We have lots of exciting things to look out for this month. We are still loving the school spirit on dress up days (we have more coming up for the week before Thanksgiving- see below). This month we are making plan for middle of year assessments and interim STAAR assessments. This will give us GREAT information on where your students progress is for this school year and how we can tweak things for next semester. Please continue to reach out to your students teachers if you have any questions or concerns. We find it extremely valuable to have open communication with parents regarding your child's educational and behavioral goals.
Love, Mrs. Waller

SEL Character Trait of the Month
SEL- Social Emotional Learning
Every week we are doing a Social Emotional Learning lesson. SEL teaches students about self awareness, self management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. Each week, these lessons will tie into the overall theme or character trait for that month! We tied this unit into our classroom and campus procedures and expectations. Our PAX Behavior system and our Brave Bucks.
November's theme/character trait is Courage
Within the Courage"unit" of SEL we will discuss the following:
- Bullying/Cyberbullying
- Teasing
- Healthy Communication
Thanksgiving Lunch
Principal's Cabinet Fundraiser
Our Principal's Cabinet wants to raise money for our local animal shelter! We will be hosting a $1.00/Day fundraiser! To participate in dress up days, each student will bring $1.00/day to donate to the animal shelter! See Graphic Below.
Brave Store
Mrs. Williams has been passionate about our Brave Store and financial literacy system. She was able to stock the store this summer and kids will return this week for shopping from their second six weeks earnings! It was so exciting to see kids trying to decide whether they would spend all of their money, save for a future item, or a mixture of both! Talk to your students about the Brave Store!
